Deck Description

Fast infect with Heartless Summoning. Necropede sets off Hand of the Praetors and gives them a -1-1 counter. Throne of Geth to sac Necrpede to proliferate then use Corpse Cur and Glissa to reanimate Necropede to keep setting off Hand of the Praetors. Skithyrx for mid-late game win. All suggestions welcome :-)

Update - 1/11/11:
-1 Glissa, the Traitor
-1 Go for the Throat
+1 Throne of Geth
+1 Core Prowler

Deck discussion for [standard] Heartless Infection

Problem being, Hand of the Praetors gives your infect creatures +1/+1, which means that the -1/-1 from Heartless Summoning is negated, and you still have a 1/1 Necropede that doesn't die and cannot be cycled.

Another thing that Id like to bring up as a good idea would be the use of Grim Affliction. With all of the -1/-1 counters going on, and the poison, great way to kill off creatures and trigger Glissa.

I see your point, but it's not as powerful as Go for the Throat or Doom Blade for creature removal. But I'm still contemplating the idea.

I think you could do better off dropping Beast Within for it, actually. Stays on the same mana cost, and even if it doesn't kill that 3/3 or larger, it does do a lot of damage, and you have plenty of direct removal with the Blades and GftT.

I decided to add in 2 Core Prowler instead of the Grim Afflictions as they costs less to play if I have Heartless Summoning out, virtually do the same thing and I can use them as a decent blocker.

hand of praetors also have a second effect......remember his insta-poison....so what ever creature is put out and HoP was allowed to be out, then insta-poison effect....

As Lepellier stated above me the -1 and +1 cancel eachother out so throne of geth would solve this and add move poison power

Since you only have 60 cards I would suggest throwing you Melira, Sylvok Outcast into the deck to negate the -1/-1s then u just have cheap creatures.

No because the wording of Melira, Sylvok Outcast says "you can't have -1-1 counters placed on your creatures" and the wording of Heartless Summoning says "creatures you control get -1-1". The difference is that Heartless Summonings ability remains static. It's not putting -1-1 counters on my creatures. Therefore that wouldn't work. But if what u said was the case then I would put her in.

I replaced the Viridian Emissary with more lands as I didn't need to ramp, I just needed enough land to play Heartless Summoning by the time I draw it.
