Just something I doodled up for fun to play with the more casual Modern crowd, or for Tribal play at shops.

Deck discussion for Zombie Jund

Ery'body got a zombie deck, but I can't say I've seen a Jund colored one before...So that's pretty sweet what you have here. I'm not so keen on Haakon in the list, but truth be told I've never liked him.

They really do, but there's reason behind it. Zombies are one of those decks you simply can't make a misplay in, it's pretty much just more zombies... Perfect for handing to a friend who wants to play even though they've been drinking.
Usually if it's a shard it'll be Grixis zombies, but I think that running it like Filth makes for a more consistent frame. Throw in the red for cheap removal, and Faithless Looting, and you're in business.

I've always loved Haakon, with Nameless Inversion he becomes the closest thing I can do to running something like PunishingBurnwillows, or Tortured Existence in Modern. Also, he was my second general in EDH. Yes, I was aware that I could never do anything with him, but I had no black legendaries back then, and he was seventy-five cents.

I can dig it. I can't even explain why I dislike Haakon, so your reasoning for keeping him outdoes my bias easy. IF you were to ditch him, you could opt for Tymaret, the Murder King. He oddly works really well with this red Filth design you've got going.

Yes, yes... Let the weird speech patterns flow through you. And Tyrmaret is pretty cool, I didn't know about him yet, so thanks. I might stick one or two of him in the sideboard, the direct damage option, especially since it can be applied after combat, is quite tempting.

You say you don't like Haakon in here, so here's a thought;
-2 Haakon
-3 Nameless Inversion
+3 Phyrexian Soulgorger
+1 Abrupt Decay
+1 Mulch

Well, you can never go wrong with Soulgorger in Filth or red Filth. It would certainly add some "oomph" to the design.

You really can't. I think once this has had a few runs in, that'll wind up as at least a SB plan. I am a bit on the fence as how to go about doing the SB in general past that though, I have access to pretty much anything I could hope for outside of an Enlightened Tutor toolbox...
The only thing I know is that I need mass token removal, and as a flexible setup for that I've been enjoying singletons of Maelstrom Pulse, Golgari Charm, and Pyroclasm.

Yeah, it doesn't hurt to have some token killers when playing Tribal. It will make some people sad pandas, such as Goat players (Springjack tokens is basically the whole deck). I still can't help thinking Tymaret would be amazing in this list, so don't count him out.
