Deck Description

Soratami are neat. And making an Esper deck with no instants is neat.

The idea here is to use lands as resources in a whole bunch of different ways. Yea, you can tap it for mana, but when it comes into play, it will set off landfall abilities, when it leaves play, it is setting off soratami abilities, tap it for mana, sacrifice it for card draw... SO MANY OPTIONS!

I struggled coming up with an Esper deck that was not my typical control deck I would want to run. I plan on tinkering with this deck a bunch to get it just right. I had a bunch of the Land Tax ability cards in there, but their reliance on basic land types made them less useful later.

Open to suggestion.

Deck discussion for Soratami Invasion

How much cash do you have? If you have stacks on stacks I would say add crucible of worlds (if you want me to give you a lower cost option for this one forget it). You could add polluted bonds to make it extra fun for other players to play lands. How bout this use either Blood clock or Umbliicus, get some more replay on those lands. And journeyer's kite would be another good addition. Another different deck from the mind of jester, but I feel ya I get tired of playing the same old decks and I get the urge to mix it up as well. Good try. One more thing I do have a new deck posted check it out (enter the werewolf) you will get it when you take a look at it.

Four more goodies I found for ya. Walking atlas, Pilgrim's eye, Explorer's scope and Trailblazer's boots so you can beat face unopposed because everyone plays non basics. Also look into lands that cycle.

Stern judge + Urborg, tomb of yawgmoth and tomb of yawgmoth + Nightmare. Tomb of yawgmoth + corrupt, Tomb of yawgmoth + mutilate, Tomb of yawgmoth + Consume spirit ( there is another one that is better than this one but it's getting late and this is the only one I can find and that's all the homework I feel like doing right now).

Great advice,

It depends on how much playing I decide to put into the deck on the crucible. It is a card worth having. My RWG deck was heavy land as well, so it stands to reason.

Walking atlas and explorers scope are definitely in. I blood clock and umbilicus are great plays as well. Also the cycling is a nice touch as well.

I considered pilgrims eye and journeyer's kite but in the end did not go with them because of the low basic land count. But after reconsidering it, they would be good to be sure I got some snow lands up for particular cards.

Trail blazer is good, and fits the theme well(and you know how I love a well themed deck), but part of me wants to just make it a whispersilk cloak.

I am a big fan of the urborg combos. Especially when mixed with cabal coffers. But I am not feeling it for this deck.

I saw your deck earlier and actually made a couple notes on it and your Edric deck, but I left them at work. I will post them tomorrow. Hopefully I can work on editing this deck and xira then too, but it is crazy late. I am working on polishing my colorless and 5color decks, then I will have a complete set of commander decks for all color possibilities.

Sweet, looking forward to what you have to say about my decks. I can't wait to see your new ones, especially the 5 color brew. I hope that when you have met you goal of a deck of every color possibility you will continue to build decks. It just kinda has me wondering if you plan to never make a deck again after you get to the ultimate goal. But if you do plan to retire ( I hope not) please continue to come to vault and check up on the decks I post so that you can give me more good advise.

I am not sure what my goal will be. In September I am going to be playing the online tcg HEX when it releases. And I coach in the fall and spring, so that will take up time. I think my work is not done though. And with the commander release in November, I can't imagine I could stay away really. I mean, there are 523 legendary creatures... I have deck lists for 27 now... you know what... Challenge accepted.
