The owner of this deck hasn't added a sideboard, they probably should...

Deck Description

An M11 deck geared toward dealing little bits of damage to keep the enemy's board relatively clear (and dealing the excess to directly to the opponent when the opportunity presents itself). Also, scrying.

I'm not sure I'm happy with what I've got going on in the 4–5cc range. Chandra's Outrage is a desirable choice, but I'm not sure I want to operate this thing without any creatures at 4cc. I had a couple Conundrum Sphinxes in there at one point, but wasn't happy with the way they performed, so I switched to the Cyclops Gladiators.

EDIT (September 8, 2010): After taking ANON's two cents into consideration, I added Chandra's Outrage and Clone to the roster, thinning out some of the scrying power (and the Gladiators, due to the RRR in the casting cost giving this deck trouble) to make room. I also swapped Mana Leak for Negate, which I'm kicking myself for not having thought of sooner. Still no sideboard, though.

I'm toying with just dropping Fireball, despite it's obvious benefits. The thing is, when I scry with this deck, I'm often dropping any excess mana to the bottom of the deck, which limits (not destroys, of course, but limits) Fireball's potential, and I really hated giving up one of those Foresees.

Deck discussion for Hopeless Pyromantic (M11)

You have a good and balanced deck from what I am seeing here.
Understandibly you want something to continue bringing down the pain at 4cc or 5cc.

So a good choice of cards you could keep in the sideboard for use would be: Act of Treason, just in case your opponent has a big creature in play, Fling for that added damage, Unsummon, Reverbrate and a few clones.

Like this you could tailor your deck for any circumstance you face. Remember your deck is supposed to be faster than your opponents and thus should deal damage a lot quicker, hence why I've suggested low mana cards to give you that edge.

In the long run your deck will hold out so long as you can get out a Gladiator or the titan but a quick finish would be better in your case.

10/10.

Thanks for the comments, ANON.

As to a sideboard, yes, I'd been giving it a little thought. Mind Control seems a stronger choice than Act of Treason, despite Act of Treason's lower cost. Fling, Unsummon, and Reverberate are all excellent contenders as well.

I actually had Reverberate main-decked for a time, but eventually noticed that I was never as thrilled to draw it as perhaps I should have been. However, Reverberate has phenomenal potential when sideboarded in against another control deck, since, in addition to the obvious synergies with direct damage, it can counter an opponent's counters by duplicating them!

I'm glad you mentioned Clone; I hadn't thought about that. Clone might be the 4-drop creature I've been looking for, actually. The Gladiator can pick off weaker creatures with impunity, sure, but this deck does fine with that anyway, and a creature that keeps me at pace in terms of creatures with my opponent, like Clone, might be a safer choice. Also, the 1RRR cost of the Gladiator doesn't necessarily lend itself to multi-colored decks, especially when those decks use non-allied colors and the only dual lands in the set are for allied colors. I'll playtest that when I get the chance.

Getting back to the sideboard, I'm considering moving Mana Leak to it. I mean, I know Mana Leak's awesome, but I tend to only want a counterspell with this deck when I'm facing an "end the game" spell like Overwhelming Stampede or Sleep, and those spells come later on the curve than where Mana Leak is optimized for. Cancel might actually be more appropriate (at least in limited). Flashfreeze is an obvious sideboard choice, as well, and probably Combust if the forecast calls for Baneslayer Angels. I'll think about it.

Btw I have given you suggestions based on the fact that you are limited to M11 cards at this point in time, but if you wish for me to show other possible cards from other sets that are still in standard let me know.

Yes, for the time being, I'm going to stick with M11. Thanks again for the helpful suggestions!
