The owner of this deck hasn't added a sideboard, they probably should...

Deck Description

This is my main deck, I have been evolving it for awhile now.

My goal was to create a combo deck where every card is so powerful and combos so well with my other cards, that my opponent wont know which one to nuke, or will run out of nukes.

Mono colored means that I cant pull off my strategy more consistently and sooner.

I built the deck with plenty of extra draws for a card advantage and plenty of extra mana for a mana advantage. It is almost unfair how big of an advantage to have mid game.

My Side deck is filled with cards I would love to play, But I cant find room for them in a 60 card deck, if you know of a card I can swap out for them, let me know.

If you like this deck, check out my others decks:

How to Play

It is reliable and simple to play because everything combos off of everything. If is lengthy to explain all the different combos because of how much synergy these cards have with each other.

Extra Mana: (It will be a mana tsunami)
4x Elvish Archdruid, 4xPriest of Titania and 1x Rofellos give you major mana
1x Omnath, Locus of Mana ensures every drop of mana is used and ramps up.
With all the extra mana, you should be able to start playing your really powerful cards early.
(wirewood lodge and Copperhorn scout can untap your elfs for double and triple mana taps per turn)

Extra Draws: (An avalanche of cards)
4x Infiltration Lens give you major card draws (combos well with 4x Taunting elfs), 1x Regal Force draws even more, 4x defense of the heart allows you tutor two creature straight to the battlefield, 1x Garruk’s Horde and 1x Oracle of Mul Daya lets you play cards right off the top of your library, and 1x Primal Surge draws your whole deck FTW. 1x Mirri’s Guile can ensure you draw the card you want. You will have more cards than you ever dreamed of.

Power up cards for offense or defense: (Elfs the size of Giants)
4x Immaculate Magistrate and 2xTimberwatch Elf power up my cards. 1x Vigor also will power them up and 4x Elvish Archdruid adds +1/+1 to all elfs.
You can surprise your opponent before or after blockers are declared with some extra power with a flip. Once these are on the field they really make life miserable for your opponent. Don’t forget how well they combo with Copperhorn scout, Taunting Elf and even Infiltration Lens.

Specialty:
4x Defense of the Heart can tutor fatties straight to the battlefield really early
1x Mirri’s Guile will ensure you draw the card you want
1x Winter Orb, 1x Elephant Grass, and 1x Platinum Angel can lock down your opponent.
1x Rofellos is like doubling your lands
1x Garruck Horde and 1x Oracle of Mul Daya means you can play just about any card off the top of your library.
2x Copperhorn scout ensures that I can flip all my creatures twice per turn
1x Omnath can save you more mana than it costs, and it gets ridiculously powerful really early game with how much mana generation is in the deck. It will keep you alive on defense till your combo is ready. Save mana for 1 turn and play the fatties the next turn.
1x Vigor makes all my creatures almost indestructible.
1x Platinum Angel to piss off your opponent :P
1x Primal Surge FTW
4xTaunting Elf means I can attack with all my creatures unblocked for damage direclty to the other player, or force my opponent to block a powered up Taunting elf which wipes out his most important creatures. Combos insanely well with Infiltration Lens and vigor.
1x Ezuri Renegade Leader Makes for regenerating elfes which is great for defense to keep you alive till you reach combo critical mass. It also combos really well with copperhorn and taunting elfs.

Note:
If can be fun to swap out 1x Winter Orb, 1x Elephant Grass, 1x Mirri's Guile, and 1x Primal Surge for 4x Plow under. You can play Plow under really early and then laugh.
OR
You can swap them for 4x Tooth and Nail. In addition to the 4x Defense of the Heart you are almost guaranteed to tutor 2 big fatties straight to the battle field early game.

Deck discussion for Elf Stampede !!!HELP WANTED!!!

I am looking for ways to improve my deck. Any advise is welcome.

My best advise is to reform the deck into an Elven Glimpse deck. But that will make it into one of the best Legacy Tournament decks around, and will not be much for social play.

It is a nice deck, but at over a thousand dollars it is to expensive.

Glimpse of Nature would be a good addition to my deck. So far the much cheaper Infiltration lens has been working for me to draw all the cards I need, especially how well it combos with Taunting Elf.

I have been working on a new elf deck more focused on mana ramping, and Glimpse of Nature would work perfect with it, especially with the Reliquary Tower I have in it.

With Ambush Commander on the field, all your lands will still untap because they are creatures......I think. Anyone know for sure?

Crap. Well at least they can still be untapped by, wirewood lodge and copperhorn scout, Seedborn Muse, and Quest for Renewal.

I mostly play Modern, so I won't be much help here.

That said, I like Heritage Druid because I can tap creatures with summoning sickness for mana, including itself on the turn it comes out. Ezuri, Renegade Leader is a good place to pump all that mana into, just be careful with the timing of playing him, he can't regen himself.

I think I have plenty of mana generation, So I dont think I need Heritage Druid. I did like your advice on Renegade Leader, so I added him in.

What mahes Heritage one of my favourite mana generators is it can be used immediatly, unlike the others that make you wait a turn.

you can look at this deck and read the htp then put tons of tokens out with the combo and tap elvish archdruid for infinite mana and play some of your higher mana cost stuff

viridian joiner combos well with immaculate magistrate and joraga warcaller, use the magistrate to power up the warcaller who powers up all other elves you control, thus powering up the joiner and giving you access to tons of mana, but that's just my favorite mana ramping combo, omnath, would be able to hold onto that mana for later, an ambush commander would make your forests into elves, which if you got a voice of teh woods, would essentially give you more big token generators. if you ran a hydra or two in here you could use the insane mana possible late game to be able to bring a huge creature out ( i prefer primordial hydras, but i know they are at least 5 or 6 bucks a pop so really any hydra or green creature calling for an X value in the mana cost would work). Vigor would also combo nicely with a warcaller/ joiner combo.
sorry for the rant, let me know if you need any help down the line.

I like Jorage Warcaller, he combos well off of immaculate magistrate and all my mana generating elfs, I am just trying to find out where to put him in, All my cards seem to important to swap out.

I am not sure about viridian joiner, I dont think I need an additional mana generator. Unless it is better than one of ones I currently use? Which one would you swap for it?

I liked your advice on omnath so I put him in.

I like ambush commander so I side decked him, I don't want to play him if I know my opponent uses board wipes.

I don't mean this as a cope out, but I have built a while back some elf decks (here on this site, not in reality, so they may be crap for all I know) that might be good sources of some ideas for you, and if you wouldn't mind commenting on them, I would appreciate it:

I took a look at your decks, I do like Mercy Killings and Quest for Renewal. I need to find a way to fit them in...... definitely Quest for Renewal. I am not sure how to fit it in.

Their are so many good elf cards. I always find it difficult to limit my deck to 60 cards. Even when I find a good card, I usually cant find a weaker card in my deck to swap out for it.

I am considering replacing the 2x Doubling Chant with an additional 2x Overwhelming Stampede. I am thinking Overwhelming Stampede will win me more games than doubling chant. What do you guys think?

0

I'm for this choice. I tried doubling in a few casual games and I wasn't fond of it. Though Ezuri should be more than enough in terms of 'overrun' effects, you can pump your copious amounts of mana into his 2nd ability and probably get more damage out of it than any other Overrun effect. (That's why I play 4 Ezuri's in my elf decks)

0

Wren's Run Vanquisher is a nice card to consider. Not much of a drawback for just showing an elf card in your hand, then you get a huge body with deathtouch.

0
Posted 11 December 2013 at 20:51

That's a good point. It would help me defend early on and protect late game. I could swap it for Elvish Visionary or Carven Caryatid, but I feel the deck needs the extra draws.

Maybe swapping out the 2 elephant grass? I wonder what would do more to keep me alive until my combo matures......

0
Posted 11 December 2013 at 20:56

I see now that Elephant's Grass gives the deck a control type aspect when played so you can get your board settled. You can try the Vanquisher's and see how they do. They basically scream attention on turn two and trade for anything. Might buy you some time while wreaking havoc on the board.

Heedless One also comes to mind when playing elves. It would thrive better on elf tokens to become huge (which elves has no problem doing).

Drove of Elves anyone? 4 drop hexproof elf with power and toughness equal to number of green permanents on your field.

I've played them a few times in my elf token deck. They're nice, but I found the spot wasted and replaced them with more copies of Ezuri.

alright, just a small input, the deck looks amazing, been pondering about my own elven deck for a while now but i never seem to get around to it, but as a nice addition to vigor and the immaculate magistrate, i would recommend doubling season, and since we're already in on the subject of making everything more powerful, how about door of destinies? 2 of each would seem fitting in my eyes at least,

0
Posted 07 January 2014 at 06:47

Problem I've found with my elf token decks are the number of suggestions of high cost cards. Yes I should have the mana to play it (almost) every game, no I won't use it because it normally slows me down by a turn (because of the high mana cost). My meta is extremely fast or against the control decks, speed is all I have.

Coat of Arms mite be better than Door of Destinies for the more immediate pump.
Parallel Lives mite fit here better than Doubling Season as it costs 1 less mana.

0

coat of arms, yes, that would be good, but since this is a question not about tokens but counters (on both door of destinies and the elves from the magistrates and vigor) .. i really think doubling season would be a great addition, don't you agree?

0
Posted 07 January 2014 at 15:37

Having Both out at the same time mite require some form of reliable search and / or draw. If Coat is chosen over Door, Parallel will be a definite better choice. I prefer it because each is, in my opinion, more reliable in here that their counterparts.

0
Posted 07 January 2014 at 15:53

Would you mind telling me wich card in that deck up there who makes tokens? Because i can't see any tokens, and whitout tokens, parallel lives would be as usefull as a brick... Coat of arms is great, but still, the effect from primal surge and door of destinies and doubling season,, well, sick is my definition.

Sorry, my bad. Whenever I think of Elf decks, my mind immediately goes to token production. I blame this on years of playing an elf deck that produces, on average, 10-20 elf tokens on turn 4.

Forgive my stupid question but for the purpose of Primal surge are the lands considered as permanents? And if they are doesn't using of Primal surge cause you milling your own library dry? As I see only creatures/artifacts/enchs and lands...

Lands are permanents. Only Instants and Sorceries are not permanents

Primal surge says "may" so you can choose to stop any time you want. Put as many as you need to win with an overkill then stop with some cards still left in the deck.
