The goal of this deck is life gain - Life gain early and life gain fast. Get down an Essence or Soul Warden, and sit around in front of your opponant absorbing their attacks. Since both your and the opponant's creatures will grant you life, and attacking into Lifelink creatures grants you life, only an instant kill combo has any chance of killing you.
I would play this by letting go of the early game slightly. You need to face-tank your opponent's early attackers until you have down enough life gain or an Asceticism to guarantee your chump blockers. The good news is you don't have to work hard to gain a lot of life, just keep playing creatures and keep blocking with your Lifelink creatures. Once you have this, use the life gain to start scaling out of control. Ajani's Pridemates and Cradle of Vitality can both blow up with counters as you gain life. Dump counters on a Lifelink creature, and snowball the advantage with even more life gain.
