Ah, Myr. So cute. So cuddly! So deadly.
This is my Myr deck from the last Standard cycle (when SoM and NPH were Standard-legal), with a few reachbacks to the original Mirrodin block now that this deck is really only useful in Modern anyway. At its core, the strategy is pretty simple: gets lots of Myr onto the field, and boost them with Myr Galvanizer, Tempered Steel, and True Conviction. If they perish, bring them back (Myr Servitor, Myr Reservoir, Buried Ruin) and/or just keep on playing new ones cheaply or even for free! (Reservoir again, Palladium/Gold Myr, Myr Enforcer)While you build up, you can pick off troublesome threats with Dispatch and Perilous Myr. Then finish the opponent off by either overwhelming them with your little ankle-biters as they become quite huge from the boosts, or with a big closer (Lodestone Myr or Myr Battlesphere).Sideboard offers more cover for your Myr (Indomitable Archangel) if Rootborn Defenses doesn't do it alone, some ways to pick apart specific threats (Revoke Existence, Dispense Justice), some more Myr to supplement as needed (Hovermyr for speed/flying and Superion for another beater if needed), big lifegain potential from War Report, and a break-glass-in-case-of-emergency sweeper (Soulscour).I confess I haven't tried this deck with the non-SoM-block cards yet, but the version I had a few months back was a BLAST to play, and very, very powerful, especially once I landed Tempered Steel. Can't wait to take this into Modern play. What do YOU think?
