Trying to build up a couple of Pauper decks, and thought Soldiers would be a good way to go. They've traditionally had a lot of tribal support, and going mono-white is a good idea when you lose access to most dual-mana lands (the vast majority being uncommon or rare).The core are the "anthem" Soldiers: Veteran Swordsmith, Armorsmith, and Armorer. They offer some nice boosts to all your other Soldiers. Gempalm Avenger and Icatian Lieutenant offer additional awesome short-term boosts.The rest are true weenies, but with bonuses. Doomed Traveler and Loyal Cathar leave undead copies of themselves behind when they die...the latter one a Soldier itself! Revered Dead is a rare regenerating white creature (and for just a single white mana!), great for defense or for pressing the attack. Ballynock Cohort is a great package for the cost. And speaking of costs, Ballyrush Banneret brings them down for all your Soldiers.And then there's the tricks. In addition to Gempalm and Icatian, you've got Guardians' Pledge to give a team boost, Rootborn Defenses to give team protection, Unified Strike to exile troublesome creatures, and Raise the Alarm to make all three of those better!
