As mentioned above you want to start the game by gaining life and staying alive. All of your one and two cost spells will help you gain life throughout the game. Once you hit turn three spells become available that deal damage to your opponent. Use this gradual damage to weaken your opponent while you continue to gain health. Once Chalice of Death, Sanguine Bond or Serra Ascendant (When you have 30+ life) hit the battlefield that's when the real damage occurs. If you have a Rhox Faithmender and a Sanguine Bond on the battlefield, playing a land and a Rest for the Weary transforms that two mana spell into a powerhouse that heals you 16 life and deals 16 damage to your opponent. In a similar scenario, contact from a Serra Ascendant can cause lethal damage.
