Thanks. Lightning bolt was something Everyone could think of but what do people play a lot in legacy? And what can mono red do about it?

3 dmg for one mana is heavy argument. And other cards are very good in legacy, specialy Blood moon,Banefire,Pyrokinesi and Ball lightning

I do like goblins but i want my deck able to react and stop an opponent. A card like blood moon works very wel because you play with no nonbasic lands and legacy is 90% nonbasic lands.

totally agreed, just never was able to get my hands on a blood moon as of yet!

Sure, I can throw some help your way.

Cards to consider:
Chain Lightning, 3 damage to target opponent or player, for 1 red mana.
Lightning Bolt, 3 damage to target opponent or player, for 1 red mana.
Fireblast, sac 2 mountains instead of it's casting cost (6 mana), do 4 damage to target creature or player.
Vexing Devil, a 4/3 creature for 1 red mana.
Goblin Guide, a 2/2 creature with haste for 1 red mana.
Barbarian Ring, nonbasic land, sac it to do 2 damage to target creature or player.
Spark Elemental, 3/1 creature with trample and haste, for 1 red mana, sac it at end of turn.
Hellspark Elemental, 3/1 creature with trample and hast, for 1 colorless and 1 red mana (can unearth for 1 colorless and 1 red), sac it at end of turn.
Flame Rift, 1 colorless and 1 red, does 4 damage to each player.
Lava Spike, 1 red mana, does 3 damage to target player.
Rift Bolt, 2 colorless and 1 red, does 3 damage to target player or creature, suspend with time counter for 1 red mana.

That is a start. If you have time and like the advice, then help me improve some of my decks.
Thanks.

Thanks. I love all the help so far. But what would you think of valakut, thunderblust, browbeat and hidetsugu's second rite?

I approve of Browbeat. Burn decks always run of cards very quickly because all of the spells are cheap to cast. So Browbeat helps you keep cards in your hand.

i dont think that valakut or thunderblust would help you out all that much, since alot of the time with mono red legacy youre aiming to win by turn 4 or 5 at the latest

Spark Elemental suck if you know Ball lightning ;-)

I agree with mattorihanzo. Running red burn with speed...you are using cheap spells. Lots of them. You usually run stuff that also hurts you (like elementals that only last one turn, fireblast which kills your own lands, reckless abandon that kills your own creature).

Red burn, not to insult your intelligence (just ranting here), is one of the most basic ideas in Magic...do as much direct damage to your opponent as fast as you can, no matter what. Don't worry about trying to block. Or destroy combos. Or being tactical. Or trying to stay alive.

I will say this, most times I have won with my red burn decks, I have been under 10 life. And I have never ran a card over 4 mana (Besides Fireblast, which I sack the 2 lands to cast, not pay the 6 mana). It isn't pretty. Just straight to the point.

we are two of the same mind when it comes to burn decks Jessie...who cares if you take damage or your opponent has started some crazy weird combo? just hit them with ball lightnings and fireblasts until they stop moving!

Jessie have true. And with blood moon and pyrokinesis you have little control in Legacy, I said :).

And Spark Elemental does not suck if you run him and Ball Lighting together in a deck, as I do Seton, lol :)

I dont see it in "Cards to consider: " wich you wrote :). So I think, you forgot this "best" red creature ever :). Peace :). Together ok :) ! Spark instead of Ball donĀ“t have meaning. That what I mean ;-). Sorry for bad english.

Keeping the board clear would also help right? so adding breaking point shouldnt be so bad.

Oh yeah, red mono burn decks require very little land. I might suggest no more than 22 lands.

Good luck.

I might suggest no more then 20 ;-). It is enough

0

Indeed. Very little lands. You are right, seton. It sucks to be on turn 5 and draw another land, especially when your opponent is at 3 life and all you need is one Lightning Bolt to kill them!

Out of all the type of decks in Magic...it probably hurts the least to be mana screwed (not have enough lands, not draw lands in your first two turns) with a Red Burn deck. Simply because all of your spells are so cheap.

True!

Also should i add guttersnipe? and iwont add goblin guide. i know its good but i dont like the idea of my opponent getting more lands and possibly drawing into better cards.

i used to always run howling mine, mana flare, and X spells. it makes for fun times when you can draw 5 cards a turn and cast everything, or roast something really goodly.
