Deck discussion for Jund Control

Maybe Fade Into Antiquity in your sideboard so you can get rid of any gods. That's about the only thing I could see this deck having trouble with.

My only recommendation would be to take out Elvish Mystic and put in Gyre Sage. More mana for you and every other creature you have in the deck evolves it at least once and some twice. Bigger Rakdos's Returns and earlier Planeswalkers and creatures. If not Gyre Sage then at least Zhur-Taa Druid because you're already running the colors and it's extra damage. Other than that it looks pretty good, a few more cards in your sideboard wouldn't hurt either. :P

The problem I see with both of those is that, with control, you need to be one step ahead of the game at every step. Zhur-Taa sets you back a turn by two cost, and Gyre Sage can set you back turns because you can't add mana with it until it has a counter on it. If the game drug out and gyre lasted that long, it could be good, but I don't see it. Overall, Mystic I think is the best choice. It's faster than those two and gives him extra mana as early as turn two.

Deathrite is a better Turn 1 though, and you have very few 3 cmc spells to be played on Turn 2 with the 3 mana, 2 of which are green. The two-drop rampers would still get the 4-5 cmc spells on the board at the same rate, since those are your win conditions it would just be extra damage from Zhur-Taa or more mana from Gyre. But hey it's your deck play what you like to play. You asked for thoughts and in my opinion Mystic doesn't fit the design of this deck.

I can see using Zhur-Taa Druid, so maybe sideboard it
It is more damage after all.

i think u should have better win conditions. reaper and vraska are okay but there are certainly better finishers u could play in jund colors. all control/midrange decks need a good finisher. stormbreath dragon is probably the best. desecration demon is good but not as a finisher. he's what i like to call a "hurdle". if u were to put him in u might want to take out the reaper. most of the jund decks are playing either/or. its really just depends on personal preference. i would choose desecration tho. also i dont think xenagos is all that good. he seems more like a for fun card to me and i would rather be playing chandra than xenagos because her 0 is just too good. also maybe get rid of the gaze and bring anger up to 4. i think u have enough "kill something" cards to take care of the 4+ toughness creatures and the only decks u would really need to wipe are aggro decks which anger takes care of nicely. as for the sideboard, i would say something like: 3 slaughter games, 3 fade into antiquity, 2 dreadbore, 2 havoc festival, 2 ratchet bomb, and 2 sire of insanity.

If you're playing Vraska, you may want to use something to make it unblockable e.g. Rogue's Passage

KJ... ...this won't work...

You'll just kill your ramp off with Anger of Gods & Gaze of Granite...

You don't have strong finishers... ...Reaper won't be enough by itselfe...

Ramp is no good now, 'cuz noncreature ramp stuff have left standard(at least the good part of the stuff)... ...no Farseek, nor Ranger's Path, or Gilded Lotus...

May be you should try Chromatic lantern & keyrunes instead of mana creatures, if you play wipes... ...though it would raise the curve, but you can make up for it by changing the whole concept...

Read the Bones if a must for control that has black in it...

You overestimate Putrefy... ...no regeneration is nice, but there arn't many artifacts to destroy, so I'd use more Downfall instead...

That's it for now... ...if you want to perfect this deck, I'm alwayes happy to help!.. :)

I've played a little bit of Jund before and I would pump it up to 25 land so you always hit the drop. I think you need some more power in the creature base like Sire of Insanity, also maybe you should put some more instant speed removal. And try and use straight out kill spells instead of lightning strike!

Add in the desecration demon. I use it if not only for the control purposes of it. They constantly sac creatures to keep it pinned down, diminishing their army quickly if you have multiples. Also, if they destroy it with removal, you made them waste a whole removal card on something that's probably not even your win con.

I agree with this commit because desecration demon is better then reaper easily i could see you running both but having 3 mystics or 3 deathrites doesnt seem good. deathrite wont give you mana unless your discarding it which doesn't seem likely. I would go with 2-4 mystic. Also 4 mizziums is to many since your also running anger which does the same for 3 mana. also gaze is coo but your woudl have 8 board clears with all your other removal which is kind of over doing it. YOu won't always vs aggro game 1. thoughtseize and underworld connections are a must. erebos, the god of the dead in your side is really good against other control decks like esper and blue white. Also guildgates are still prety good turn 1 and I dont like lightning strike when you have doom blade, ultimate price and devour flesh available which all are better at removing. Last thought is stormbreath dragon is the win con in this deck much like thundermaw hellkite was before rotation. also xenago's is a weird card in this deck but I like it so I would say try it out.

Seems cool, i would think about scavening ooze. seems good in this type of deck. Read the bones seems really great for this deck, I would replace elvish mystic and maybe a few deathrites for two more lands and read the bones.

I would add 2 rakdos return and two sire of insanity to help against control in the sideboard instead of clan defiance and rakdos charm.
