You might be thinking about culling the weak. I think the pack rat is a great add as well.
if u could pull enough mana to play ad nauseam, sanguine bond and exquisite blood into tendrils on 1 turn u could wipe out everyone no matter how many you play against and how much life they have but that is 19 mana to pull off idk if it can be done. I do like your addition of the pack rat he is good to clean up if the storm doesn't finish it
