Deck discussion for Modern Ideas: Grixis Control

Hmm, dissolve and doom blade in modern? Why? And why Prognostic Sphinx?

Dissolve and Doom blade may be surprising I guess. The Dissolve is just the strictly better cancel, and the doom blade allows us to kill most of the format, as there aren't many great black bombs except maybe Griselbrand and Desecration demon. Prognostic sphinx is just a great flier that can prepare us for the home run if not dealt with with its scry 3 ability.

It's really sad that we aren't allowed to use treasure cruise or dig in modern. There's nothing really broken about them, and counter spell would't break modern either.

Usually you run 1 blade, 1 go for the throat and one something else, maybe dreadbore would be good.
These grixis decks usually run kolaghan's command, gurmang angler, tasigur and hand attack.

ah, but sorcery speed on dreadbore though. Maybe a second murderous cut? Go for the throat seemed good up until I realized Modern's artifact fetish (affinity). Tasigur would be good, though I'd like to keep 2 sulimgars as my only 6 drops. Gurmang angler isn't really something I want to include, because It doesn't really do much other than being a fat creature with no abilities, while Tasigur can give you really great card advantage late game.

Kolaghan's command just seemed like the strictly worse electrolyze, which I didn't want to include either because of the various kill spells in black, plus I remind you the playset of lightning bolts which can deal with what those other cards can't for 2 less mana.
