This is meant to be a Standard deck for when Theros rotates out.

Northern! You sir have earned even more respect from me from knowing you watch Markiplier!

Unfortunately for me, I really don't have access to Magic where I live, or the money to keep up with Standard. So I just like to make decks that people might enjoy. Most of my decks are built for Modern, with a few being for Standard.

Yeah. But that's why you don't have to Unleash everything, but like you said, if you do go for the full-on attack, you gotta do it quickly, as is the way with most Aggro decks.

I'm unsure if the deck could improve. I'm sure it could, but unfortunately, I don't have the resources to test this deck out myself. And what I mean by legalized, is that according to the Wizards of the Coast, as of right now, these cards aren't allowed in Standard. Then again, it could just be that they haven't updated their Standard rules yet. I hope that clarifies that.

The only problem I have with Abzan Ascendancy is while yes, it is a good card, it has 2 problems in my eyes for this deck.
A. The card's colors do not match this deck's main colors, and while this is meant to be a somewhat Abzan-themed deck, it's meant to use only Bant colors.
B. The card is more so for a late game purpose and does use up some mana. You'll want to build up your army, then play it. It also would take room over other Heroic activating cards, and I'd rather not replace too many, if any, of those.
However, I thank you for your suggestion though!

Perhaps he would better as a sideboard replacement for Abzan Battle Priest.

Hey Barracuda, I actually just made my own Red / White Samurai, I figured it would be a way for you to see what kind of deck I would try to aim for, and if you get any ideas, you can draw from it. Feel free to look at it here.

Well, while I agree the Maul is good and all, it's not going to be all that helpful. If you were focusing a little more on Legends, I would suggest it. But, like I said, these are all my opinions. You don't have to take these words by heart. I can guarantee you I am no master deck builder.

Eh, it's a good card, but I don't know. Maybe after an adjustment or two it may play better. Another question, are you going to focus on Samurai and Legends, or just Samurai?

A good card to sideboard may be Fumiko the Lowblood.

In my opinion, since this is more Aggro than Midrange, might I suggest dropping Hold the Line?

Well, if you're going for Aggro, might I suggest 1 or 2 Firemane Avengers?

Before I suggest more cards, might I ask if you are going for Midrange or pure Aggro?

I honestly thought the Mardu Charm was the worst, but maybe that's just me.

+3 Kitsune Blademaster
+1 Indebted Samurai
+2 High Ground, will combo well with Masako.
Tell me what you think of these first.

So the deck will have in total 2 Lightning Helixes, and you simply aren't going to include the lands and the other Helix in order to not shift the price. Am I getting all that correctly?

Okay, before I start to give suggestions, I just need to know one thing. When you say $15, do you mean that the price of the deck can only equal 15, or it can have an additional 15?

Man . . . A single deck, and I've inspired not one, but two people to start making decks (again). I never thought I would have such an impact.
