Deck Description

Trying to do a competitive Infect deck for tournaments.
The idea is winning as fast as you can, that's why some important cards like Putrefax and Skithiryx are not in the main deck, because I believe they are best for mid/late game.

Feedback is very welcome :)

Deck discussion for Fast Infect

glistener elf is not very good for infect decks, there is no avoidance. i would switch out the garruks,, i assume that you put them in there for his -4 ability. This is costing you 4 mana to play, then wait a turn to bring him up, (thats assuming your oppenent doesnt attack it, and you dont want to block with anything when your infect unless you are going to lose), thats too much mana for a +4 +4. I would recomend putting simply just giant growths, groundswells, etc.
with infect, you have to hit extremely fast. put in the extra vines, and i would also throw in maybe some piston sledges for some quick damage. . also, i would highly recomend plague stingers, theyre silly not to play for infect decks. you need that avoidance. also, why skythryx in ur sideboard?

Glistener elf is in there because, if I start the game, chances are I can damage my opponent with +5 poison counters in turn 2.
Yes, I put the garruks for their +4/+4 ability, but you are forgetting about trample, that can win me a game . Maybe I can put blight mambas in there to protect garruk? I haven't thought of that, but you are right, I have to protect him with something.
Skythryx is in the sideboard because I like it for late game.

Completely disagree with above regarding glistener elf. If you go first, there's a very strong chance that you are swinging for 5-8 with pumps on turn 2.

To that end, you could make it game on turn 2 if you switch out the duress for mutagenic growths. Three forests are also way too few. If anything, the amount of lands should be switched (i.e. 7 forests and 3 swamps) - especially since you have plague myr to add black if needed.

Dismember is stronger than doom blade as well.

That's why I put glistener elf in there, and because I need a creature to sacrifice if Garruk gets attacked.

You have a good point, mutagenic growth is very good, but I think I need duress in case I'm playing against a control deck. I'll probably add it to the sideboard, though. Or how about if I change the giant growths for them?

And I totally forgot about dismember! You are absolutely right, there's no way a creature with more than 5/5 would be in play in turn 2.

Thanks a lot for the advice :D

That's a good card, but sadly I can't use it in standard and I don't want to leave that format.

but thanks anyway :)

Run Blight Mamba instead of Glistner Elf so you can regenerate to keep protecting Garruk.
