Because your playing delver perhaps limiting enchantments would help? I'd go with cyclonic rift over oblivion ring and simic charm might be a safe choice instead of detention sphere. Great deck!

Freaking sweet build! But I'm all about dark confidant and this version is only running one. i get it. Cool mana base! props for running treetop village:) My advice: trade disfigure for tragic slip and Batterskull for a sword of fire and ice (or any whatever sword (s) you own.

Honestly, it looks like a large draft deck. That means you do not have multipal copies of enough good cards. Which ultimately means your deck is not consistant and therefore cannot keep up more traditional standard decks. If you do not have a lot of cards sometimes changing formats can help. For example, do you play Highlander or Commander? In both of those formats you build 100 card decks that have only one copy of any given card (besides basic lands). Alternatively, under my name (just click on my name), I have a deck challenge to build standard decks for less than $100. I ask people to leave me links to thier decks and let me tell you, there are some great decks on there for less than $40. I hope I haven't offended you, but I know how hard it is to get some honest critisism. fyi: my deck is a red/black build. Goodluck!

Treefolk decks are fun. I'd drop three cards in order to ge to sixty. My advice drop the Raking Canopy(s). They would be better in your sideboard. Though I'd replace it with Hurricane because of the direct damage to players, which can be used for a kill. Also, this deck could use some early game mana acceleration because your three and four drops are your biggest threats and should be brought out asap. I like wild growth (and moxes!!) Lastly, put a sideboard together... its fun. One underrated sideboard card, good foor treefolk decks, is Eldameria's Vineyard (spelling?) Cheers!

This is a great deck and completely doable on a budget. Oblivion stone and fiend hunter are great board control and I'm always on board for ethereal armor! I didn't know about Devine deflection, wow! It would be great in a great many sideboards but your wise for main decking it In your creature focused deck. Cheers!

Sometimes, deck building can be frusterating when the keystone card of the deck isn't that good. Make your life easeir and drop the Runechanter. If this were legacy then the Runechanter could be the MVC (most valuable card) by dumping your library and then swining... (think of a oath of druids deck that would fetch one unblockable haste creature that has been equiqed while putting the majority of your cards into your graveyard). However, in Standard that isn't normally an option. Perhaps you could board the Runechanter in case you run into a mill deck:) In all honesty, If you really like this deck... just switch to trepanation blade and then add more mill cards like thought scour. then your playing agro mill

You should rework the lands... after several test hands its clear that you need more lands that generate white and red mana. Also your working at sorcery speed and do not have any reliable creature control spells until turn four. Meanwhile, a typical gruul or boros deck is switching to burn about this time in order to kill. You also do not address Mill with your card choices and therefore you'd be at its mercy for bounce and counters (not to mention the mill). Lastly, you need to drop five cards. However, I love the deck's affordability and Nico is one of my favorite Planeswalkers. Goodluck.

This deck is confused because it does not have a go to combo for a quick win. I know the idea is to cast the Act while the reckoner is on the battlefield, however that is hard to make happen if your creatures have zero protections spells. My advice, add boros charms and the pilgrims and go for an infinite life combo or ramp up your mana and try for stuffy doll's traditional build. Good luck

Nice build, is it keeping up with boros and gruul? I see your running centaur healers in your sideboard, which is awesome. I take it Mill isn't big where your playing? I say that because you have few options against a counter spell/ creature kill control deck, though i like your "nevermore" side. This is a beautiful deck.

I really enjoy your creativity. Perhaps early game mana acceleration so that u cast the lantern on turn two.

I like this idea! I'm a big fan of tragic slip if creature tokens are going to be dying... and soo cheap. This deck gives protection to your creatures tokens... Def a plus! The nice thing about this deck is that it's unconventional, nobody is boarding for enchantments. However you should drop the tormented souls and go with snap cast or auger of bolas. What's your meta game?

Why mill? I mean, I love mill but this deck this deck is using an Agro creature concept and doesn't seem capable of milling forty cards by turn seven. Your right about the shamans because I think this is a "rock" archetype and graveyard control is vital to rock. The good thing about your deck's version is the creature tokens, which can do more than just chump block and tap for demons. I'd drop the guest honor monks though... They too expensive and without protection easy targets. If u keep the mill cards perhaps look to wight of precinct six (or whatever) they re underrated. Good luck on the circuit;)

I'd cut two Thalia, bc he's a legend... though elite could be dropped also. I love the build.

Love the rock feel! I'd drop the shadow slice and mortars (to the side) for brimstone volley in the main deck. Cheers

I've been playing since mirage and love the game. Just use the resources on this site (especially the sample hand function) and you'll learn about the statistics and proper ratios. The only rule you need to follow is keep it at sixty cards. Remember the best decks can win with just seven cards. As for this deck, long term board control is better than short term (detainers) because your deck isn't trying to kill your opponent with one large creature. I'd drop the paralyzingly grip, the Angelic benediction; in order to add two more oblivion rings. I'm a big fan of detention spear but flood might be better against a Boros deck. I play Boros and let me tell you this is not a good matchup for you:( good luck :) AWESOME NAME

The Deck is too slow. Your best situation is that one turn four... FOUR... your artists are doing six damage and by turn five you've cast the enchantment. That's if your opponet is not running direct damage or mass removal (which everyone is). Long story short you're mana curve is off and you have no early game defenses (besides three slips which are awesome) If you use your turn three tokens as chump blockers (which won't work if your casting one of the four copies of illness on turn one or two) your gaining two life instead of making big plays. Finally, you don't have a way to get back your artist if they get milled/killed (. This deck would be an awesome concept for a legacy deck which could dump, reanimate, and repeat the process for a one turn kill. I'm sorry if I sound harsh... i really do like the concept. You just need to trim the fat off this deck for more board control, so that you live until turn six.

Fun idea, but in legacy this deck would be eaten alive. If you doing something in legacy... do it by turn three. If this deck is suppose to be a fun "casual deck", then please accept my sincere appology. In general, the deck lacks board control is at the mercy of single spells being cast that would destroy everything your working soo hard to do! Ex. engineer explosives, hybernation, or a single warth of God... its back to square one. Even tranquility (a thirty cent common) would put an end to your Helix. What this deck needs is an infinite combo in order to win on the next turns' upkeep. Have you seen the three piece combo of 1)magnus of the candleabra; 2)heart beat of spring; and 3) "freed from the real" (a blue card)? Its a combo that can be done on turn two if your lucky with mana (or moxes)... also adding blue would give you counters, stiffles, and bounce which would help keep your helix alive. Great idea and good luck!
