Deck discussion for never ending Undying

I like it! As for Will-O-Wisp try out maybe Stromkirk Noble since he can grab +1/+1 counters pretty well.

thank you, but the reason I'm taking the counters off my creatures is so they can never die. Interesting idea though. What do you think about Tormented Soul? I could move the counters to him and then keep swinging with an unblockable tell me what you think

I think that your core concept has enough cc that you probably won't need an unblockable. I could stand to see -2/3 land for some draw engine, however.

I think its good! I don't like defenders for some reason. I guess i've just been playing alot of aggro :/. So I agree with the above comment about will-o-wisp. They could exile it or get rid of it some other way and then It defeats the purpose. Other than that great job! Love the synergy with the undying mechanic and the artifacts!

THANK YOU!!! but do you have any ideas to switch out the wisp. Maybe adding more creature destruction? or maybe some kind of cool card that does something when a creature leaves or enters the battlefield.

Best way to kill this deck is to turn it into a joke and have Carlos mencia tell it...but that works with anything. Okay, I'm done with the mencia stuff now. All kidding aside, I love undying. Sometimes however, they stay dead. That's when you use a card like rise from the grave to get them back yet again. Try running a few of those. And flayers ability still triggers with that. Also, I'd add griselbrand along with a few undying evils (in case rise from the grave doesn't show up). When he undies, flayer has GRISELBRAND do damage. That means that since he has lifelink, you gain 8 life, deal 8 damage, and can draw 7 cards...good turn, huh? And if he died because you flung him, you just did 15 damage. So I'd add fling too. If your stuff never dies, fling is very effective burn. So far, nice deck. :)

Thank you for the comment on my Krenko deck, i found his tap ability to be simply insane coupled with some older cards, as for the Will o the Wisp, I would say putting in 2 or 3 Slumbering Dragon as his "awakening" revolves totally on the counters he has on him , hes an insane control card cuz no1 wants to attack you when you've got him out and moving counters around to wake him up well, not much beats an 8/8 flyer for 1 , sure beats the hell out of will o the wisp ;)

Yeah no probelm its nice seeing a new twist on a deck everyone pretty much makes the same way. Thanks for the idea slumbering dragon it would fit this deck very nicely.

What I saw on MTG Daily was using a Smallpox , sacrificing a Geralf's Messenger, and perhaps discarding an easily retrievable card (e.g. something with flashback), and it's a lose-lose situation for your opponent. Just a thought. Also glad you like my Worldfire deck!

Ha no probelm it looks like you could get worldfire out real easy with it and have an nice finisher at the same time.

The only other thing that could help would be Hex Parasite. Looks good though.

I would also suggest fitting in Ion Storm somewhere in your deck if removing counters is what your gameplan is, Ion Storm is awesome for that, as it deals 2 damage for each counter you remove from a permanent

Whoa...! You kill hate decks for sure ! :-O
Only two suggestions to modify this gem, "Unearth" (Geralf's good friend): {B}: Return target creature card with converted mana cost 3 or less from your graveyard to the battlefield. Cycling (, Discard this card: Draw a card.)
And "Energy Chamber": 2CMC: At the beginning of your upkeep, choose one — Put a +1/+1 counter on target artifact creature; or put a charge counter on target noncreature artifact

Why doesn't this have more likes...?? It's a bomb !
+1 from me :D

Its very well made. Good job.
I was thinking, what about Killing Wave instead of Black Sun's Zenith? I understand that you could easily remove the -1/-1 counters from your creatures, but thats the whole reason they have undying correct? Save your Power Conduit's to remove those +1/+1 counters from your creatures instead of taking off -1/-1 counters. That way, your turns are more effective, sacrificing your creatures for killing wave works easier, and it will still help damage your opponent nicely, all for the same cost as Black Sun's Zenith anyway.

Just something to consider.

mmm I wouldn't remove the negative counters I'd let them die and if they have a +1/+1 I'd remove that. You are right sac wave is a little easier but i dont like how they get the choice for each ctreature and a card that gets shuffled back into a deck gets more uses than one that gets graveyard'd after one use thank you for idea tho. I am however looking for something to switch out for go for the throat I was most likely going to go innocent blood but if you had a nice idea for a nice kill card I wouldn't mind hearing your idea

Well, here are some of my favorite removal cards: Murder, terminate, and parasitic implant. You could even use bone splinters because of the undying.

diabloic edict from tempest, cannibalize from stronghold and you might like grave pact

0
Posted 08 August 2012 at 02:48

I do enjoy grave pact, its in my sacraficial gains deck. as for the other 2 I prefer innocent blood I dunno what I'd even know what to do with cannibalize, exile and placing the counters on my creature would be counterproductive. I only remove the counters because I want them to return, not to use the artifacts. The artifacts are just a bonus, speeding things up and protecting me from variables.

have you considered using Persist as well? Murderous deathcap would be pretty good on this deck :)

i would recommend removing or reducing flayer of the hatebound coz it may really delay you at most times and since this is legacy, why not put some of the better ressurect spells?

Add a one-of Dark Depths for s&g. XD A 20/20 indestructible flier will make just about anyone pause. LOL

I agree with TheWhisperingOne that Flayer may be too slow for you. At the very lease, reduce the count to 2 and get some earlier game in there. A 4th Dark Ritual and a 4th Innocent Blood, perhaps?

0

I agree its slower but thats what the 2 mana 1/1s are for. Messing around with these are going to increase my mana pool quickly and since they only take 1 mountain to play i can easily get one out on turn 4 or 2 (if I'm that lucky). Yes a 20/20 indestructible flyer would be something but so would an indestructible artifact that allows me to win the game after 20 counters on it. I had to decide how i wanted to play it and i found i'd have more fun with the cannon and prism and isn't what its all about?

I did drop 1 flayer for another dark ritual, but I like having more than 2 since these boys stack
Thank you for the input.

Neat concept! I think Carnifex Demon could work well here. Similarly, Contagion Clasp or Contagion Engine.

Thank you but the only thing I'm doing with counters on my creatures is removing them. Creating extra is going to be counterproductive. Also, paying 4 mana for 2 mana or 2 mana for 1 mana is also going to be counterproductive. Proliferating will only create problems. Like I stated above, I dont really care about counters for this deck. The primary goal is killing with creatures in different ways. 7 manas kind of alot to get a -1/-1 counter. Its an interesting idea and could change the dynamic of the deck. As of now its working out as expected. I may look further into your idea later, thank you for your input.

what about evernight shade instead of butcher ghoul? He gives you a useful ability instead of the ghoul who is kind of useless unless you just want a 1/1 over and over again. Dark ritual helps get him out early game if you worried about mana cost.

Also, does black sun's zenith cancel the +1/+1 counters or just add a -1/-1 counter? because i think the +1/+1 stays on it, but im not sure..

0

+/+ and -/- counters cancel each other out. Example: 5 +1/+1 counters on a creature. Play Grim affliction, put a -1/-1 counter on and proliferate, then it ends up with no -1/-1 counters but only 3 +1/+1 counters. And, it works the other way as well.

It's pretty nice. It would suck if it faced my redblue because of the fact it blows up creatures and your creatures have undying shit.

i like the deck although you could add anything that proliferates on cue so you can shift counters on your creatures of lux cannon at will. might work well
