I wanted to make a mono black discard deck but I changed my mind and added some blue. Because the downside of discard only is when the opponent doesn't have any cards in his hand your discard cards are uselles. Also when he draws a card he'll automaticaly play it, because he knows that it will be discarded. I prefer the underworld dreams and liliana caress combo. When they draw cards, they receive damage and when they discard cards, they receive damage. Ya, when your opponent has no cards the discard is useless. THat is why I put in the Memory Jar's. THey are the 'death blow' when combined with a Liliana's Caress. Ideally, this deck would wrok like this: Turn I: Swamp, Duress Turn 2: Swamp, Hymn to tourach Turn 3: Swamp, Liliana's Caress Turn 4: Swamp, Dark Ritaul, Momory Jar. -activate the Memory Jar (if you opponent doesn't play any of the cards, he will take 14 damage... then hopefully you have drawn another dark ritual, a rack, and a hymn to tourach... If so you have probably won unless your opponent is playing a blue control and can counter...
I have also thought about creating a deck just around the Memory Jar and Liliana's Caress combo. It could be a blue and black deck with a Tolarian Academy, Mass-Effect draw cards, mana acceleration, etc... Cards I would consider in that deck: Tolarian Academy, Prosperity, Lotus Petal, Mox Diamond, Sol Ring, Time Spirial, Twiddle (to untap the Academy), tutor's, Memory Jar, Liliana's Caress... Thoughts?
