Deck discussion for Saproling horde

nice deck... if you want to make it REALLY good since it is green and white put GLARE OF SUBDUAL and AURA SHARDS

;)

Hmm Glare of Subdual isnt that important as I want to make a big horde of saps so doesnt really matter if there are blocking creatures or not. Aura Shards is good indeed I am going to think about it thanks for the tip!:D

Glare isn't just good for tapping attacking creatures---you use it to tap creatures that ping for damage, that let him draw cards, unblockable creatures, creatures that buff unblockable creatures...the list goes on. Glare in these decks is almost always a game-ender.

whew ok well u need a lot of tweaks, first suggestion is to drop the following cards :

coat of arms, sporoloth ancient, 1 mycolyth, bramble elemental, savage thallid, and fungal behemth.

i would deff add in 2 more sprout. if u also take out the verdant embrace, u can add in a few overrun which is way more abusive. i have a friend around here that uses that combo and it just kills. hard to block multiple 4/4 trampling cratures.

Hmm the coat of arms is for the same cost as overrun and I am trying to get alot of saprolings so trample is kinda a overkill as if the more saps the better coat of arms works as when I have 8 saps they all will be 8/8 with coat of arms.
And with the sporoloth ancient, savage thallid and bramble elemental removed wouldnt this deck get kinda slow?

I would keep the coat of arms, ancient, and mycoloth. If you're gonna keep Bramble, throw in Whip Silk--G for two saps, G to return it to your hand and do it again. I'd agree on losing savage, and fungal--fungal is a great card, but not necessarily here.

well honestly the deck is really slow anyways, most sap decks r. i have only seen a few that move fast. the reason for losing most of those cards is ur mana curve being through the roof and to loower the over all deck count. coat is a great card, but think of the down side affect being if i use elfs, or rats or even eldrazi tokens, i get the power boost as well. u dont really win in that situation. the over all changes i suggested can make the deck run a lil smoother and as well as faster. if anything u can move those cards to the SB and just sub in when u need them.

Thank you very much:) I think I indeed keep them at the SB. Probably going to order the deck soon so I can try it out and leave cards out after seeing the deck in use:)
If you might come across a card that might fit in the deck please let me know!

Btw can anyone tell me if Gilder Bairn is good in this deck and usefull or is it just a overkill?

actualy if u could make the room for it, it might be of great use for this deck. especialy since saps tend to be slow with the spore counters. i think 3 of gilder in the deck could be useful. but thats just me.

Thanks gonna order them^^ so I can just try out what works the best. Been thinking that I have too little 1 and 2 mana fungusses. But I think fists of ironwood and Thelonite hermit make up for that or am I mistaken?

I'd say definitely add Gilder Bairn, and some method of protecting mycoloth. Example, Canopy Cover.

Say you have 15 saproling out, cast mycoloth devouring all 15, play canopy cover, tap Gilder Bairn. Next upkeep you put 60 saprolings in play.

2 other suggestions. You have a major weakness to board clearing spells if you don't have savage thallid out and enough saprolings to sac. I'd suggest since your already g/w, consider Loxodon Heirarch, he doesn't really go with the theme, but his ability is quite useful, unless of course its Wrath of God or the like, which savage thallid would fail at as well.

Secondly, an overwhelming stamped or two could turn this from 20 1/1 saprolings and a 20/20 mycoloth swinging, into 20 21/21 saprollings and a 40/40 mycoloth swinging and all have trample.

Glider Bairn + selesnya evangel would give you a ton of counters and sparolings. So yes add them. Also my biggest concern for you and this deck is the mana count. I sorry to say but its awful, you need at least 25 land with a 70 card deck. And all your creatures cost around 4-5 mana making the deck even slower. I assume you made this deck after playing Magic 2012 online game,(I know because i made a white/green aura deck haha).
So my suggestion is to back to the drawing board. Rethink about which creatures are redundant and un-need and take them out. Try and get your card count down to 60. And if you still don't know what to take out, add more 5 forest, your good on plains, and just have a 75 card deck.
Happy sparoling!

Hmm I made some changes. Please tell me what you think. Also remind that Thelonite hermit comes turned up side down into play for 3 mana. Looking forward to your comments:)

Pallid Mycoderm has a nice ability: "Sacrifice a Saproling: Fungus and/or Saproling creatures you control get +1/+1 until end of turn."

So you sac all the blocked saps so that the others get bigger :p
