Deck discussion for BurN Lockdown

Spellshock is pretty neat and until now I had some how overlooked it.
I am not sure if it is better than Pyrostatic Pillar or not. It comes out a turn slower than Pillar but it deals damage for casting spells no matter what after that.

I tried doing something like this with my Burn Everything deck. It does make me a little worried that you are going to be burning yourself too much with cards like Flamebreak, Flame Rift, Arid mesa and spellshock. To counter act the life loss I added in Elixir of Immortality but for this deck it wouldn't work out too well cause you would shuffle your arid mesas back into your deck and you would hurt Grim Lavamancer.

The verdict is still out on Sensei's Divining Top in burn decks. I originally thought it would work great. After playing it for a while I am starting to question it. It has won me a few games but it has also actually lost me a few games. The best time to play it is not in the opening hand but on turn 3 to help keep you from loosing steam. The problem has been that the goal is to win by turn 4 and wasting any mana on a non burn spell makes things slower. It does help out in games that drag out longer but I am still unsure. I will let you know as I play more games with it.

I don't know if you have seen the new card Chaos Warp but its pretty neat and gives mono red an answer to enchantments and such for only 3 mana. Its risky but if something like leyline of sanctity is out it is very useful.

Hi, yeah most of the games when I have a chance to cast spellshock always ends up as a win. It's somewhat better than sulfuric vortex when it comes to inflicting damage as fast as you can. Most of the time whenever I drop it, the opponent ends up with 8 or less lives left. It's definitely a good lockdown against control decks or any decks that casts multiple spells per turn. Since my spells only damages the opponent directly giving him/her at least 3 damage, the 2 damage I receive from spellshock is not really a big deal. Thus, it only shortens the number of spells he/she can cast. Barbarian ring and grim lavamancer also gives a good synergy once I have spell shock on the field.

Sensei's divining top is just alright. But sometimes even it's useless because most of the cards are good to cast whenever you draw them.

I also put in Ball lightning since it also gives me a good chance to kill my opponent's creatures. I'm still thinking if Goblin guide would be good to add though.

Chaos warp was really good. But I didn't have a chance to grab a commander deck. It was already sold out on MTG stores here. >.<

Btw, I really liked your persist deck! It looked fun to play!

So what are you going to do when a Leyline of Sanctity Hits the table ? Leyline of Sanctity will shut down more than 50% of your deck. Chaos warp or Anarchy is a must for the Sideboard.

I think that is what the Nevinyrral's Disk is for. Chaos Warp is way better because it is 2 turns quicker and an instant. By turn 5 if you haven't been able to damage your opponent things look pretty grim for burn but not impossible. Best case scenario if Leyline of Sanctity hits the table is to burn their creatures up and keep them from getting too much board control. I have never tried running Grim Lavamancer but I see that he could help a lot in that scenario.

I guess mursh already said it all. He's really good >.<. But I have already considered putting in at least 3 chaos warp into sideboard. I just can't have a way to grab chaos warps in real life. XD. And I just love how Nevinnyral's disk destroys almost everything even at fifth turn. Thanks by the way.
