How to Play

Update: This deck made it to mythic grinding the BO3 ladder on MTGA.

This is a best of three deck green black with a splash of blue and white. Best of three gives you a break from playing against RDW and its aggro-bros every game. BO1 is about exploiting the play order and the lack of sideboard to win by turn 4 in forgettable games. Anyway, this sideboard includes Stone Brain which is kind of a cure all once you get to know your opponent's deck.

Anyway, this deck grinds out wins slowly by building up to the Dopplegangs which can often turn a match upside down. Early on, it has Mosswood, Glissa, Shakedown Heavy, and Jewel Thief. They add draw, mana, and defense quickly.

Mosswood is kind of busted. Basically a 4.5 mana card for 2 mana. This is typical of many cards now. The one and two drops are about 4x their mana value, the four mana drops are double, and by the time you get up to the six or seven mana cards their value is about 1.5x their cost.

Deadly cover up is a five drop board wipe with the ability to eliminate threats from the opponent's deck. Despite being slower than Depopluate, the ability to remove graveyard cards from the opponent's library is worth it. I am noticing a lot more decks playing variety now rather than 3x or 4x of many cards.

Titan of Industry and Vorinclex add some later pressure. I am currently Mythic tier with this deck. I've played against the usual suspects, lots of aggro and control. That's where the meta is at.

All the forgettable rounds against RDW and its clones, all the non-interactive toxic games (Venerated RotPriest is like a 4.5 mana card for 1 and you never have to interact with your opponent again), and the stale WOTC built this deck for you with keywords that everyone has seen a million times. Still, the pressure of hitting land drops since the two-two bears are long gone...

All you remember is the desperate struggle to get the shuffler to let you draw five lands. (Don't miss a land drop the game.)

Anyway, WOTC created a fast paced environment with lots of overvalued two and three drops which means you cannot miss a land drop for the first five turns and expect to win a game. I sideboard path if I'm going against RDW or WW. Tithing is kind of fun if you sacrifice a creature and Dopplegang it.
