How to Play

inspired by slimslamer!

trying to get this under $20 is a little bit of a challenge. Its pretty close, you could get it down under $20 but you would be taking to much away from the deck I feel like

Deck discussion for Melira the Persistant

My immediate critique: You should really run Viscera Seer. He's the best sac-outlet in modern bar none.

Im going to have to use Suture Priest to try and lower the price, since this is a remake of your deck that you use I was just trying to get it around the $20 mark. What do you think should be taken out for some Suture Priests?

This one i like. I would highly suggest Bone splinters again, though

Any suggestions on which things should be taken out to replace? I find it hard to pick which because they all have a pretty good purpose. Maybe Doom Blade? But they kinda do the same thing except with doomblade I don't have to sac a creature. But if they were running a black deck i see the point in bone splinters since i can't kill them with doom

I dont think that Elvish Mystic is 100% necissary... maybe take out 2 mystics and a doom blade to add 3 bone splinters

Yeah I took out my mystics in the original deck because they were nice but duress was nicer. Also don't run Bone Splinter, run tragic slip. It runs at instant speed, is less restricting (can be played turn 1 to eliminate their exp 1 before it goes off, or turn 2 to get rid of their confidant, etc) and can kill invincible creatures. With a deck like this creatures will probably be dying every turn, so Slip is really the place to be.

oh yeah tragic slip could work well

it isnt great if no creatures died this turn though, so maybe play slip and splinter?

I put in 3 Tragic Slips and 2 Splinter's to help out different circumstances. Since the Sac from Splinters can trigger the Banshee's morbid which can kill stuff on its own so you can actually kill 2 creatures in one turn with Splinters

The kill from splunters triggers Banshee's morbid, you don't need the sac. It's better to run doomblade because splinter doesn't do much for you early game, and this is very much a midgame deck, so it needs some good early game hate. Also I'd recommend taking out the cauldrons for Viscera Seer. I cannot exaggerate how great viscera seer is.

You like the scry 1 that much? I guess it would work pretty well for this deck but I would be happy drawing anything in this deck since they are all so good! I went ahead and put 4 of them in and took the cauldrons out

You like the scry 1 that much? I went ahead and put in 4 Visecra seer and took out 2 cauldrons and it lowered the price of this deck a lot. I think having one cauldron could come in handy giving creatures that don't have persist it so they can all live. I think the seer could work pretty decent in this deck though

I found some potentially better removal that doom blade: Smother. It's like a (very) budget abrupt decay. As an added bonus it can hit transformed Mutavaults and Artifacts.

Yeah I can see the advantage to it, but if something was really strong it might be harder to take down, I mean you have tragic slip I guess to kill them

The deck I tested on MWS used abrupt decay and tragic slip as removal. And while decay is obviously far better, the combination of the two got rid of pretty much any threat I faced. Most decks in modern outside of stuff like Tron and Bloom run few creatures with over 3cc at the moment. I'd recommend testing Smother at the very least.

Yeah I put them into the deck. That's a good point. They almost always have a creature out with 3CM or less which can trigger the slip removal. I put all 4 in to save some money and moved doom blades to a side board for now. I never knew about Smother so yeah!
