Deck Description

*Update* Went with Mardu to try an enchantment control with some powerful PW 's to see if it would cure some of the more lacking pressure elements it was lacking. I'm not using any spot removal but there is plenty of room in the board for such.

How to Play

Pretty simple really. Use the plethora of cheap enchantment "removal" to stall the board and get to Gideon and Chandra to close it out. I must admit I'm not sure how well this will hold up to Eldrazi Ramp or Atarka Aggro, but the midrange, Abzan, and Megamorph decks fall prey to this pretty spectacularly. The SB is mainly setup to cover for the hyper aggressive Atarka type decks. Would need to be somewhat lucky against Eldrazi Ramp.

Deck discussion for Mardu Enchantment Control

Damn this deck is sweet. It crushes midrange and aggro while being a total sieve against Eldrazi Ramp. Haven't played against any control decks yet, but I have a sneaky suspicion it will hold it's own especially post board. I recently swapped out Narset Transcendent for Noyan Dar, Roil Shaper since it fits better with my SB as a whole. The reason being I end up taking out several enchantments for instants which would make Sigil of the Empty Throne less viable but improving Noyan Dar, Roil Shaper as a threat while also never needing to side out Planar Outburst.

With control, lots of board wipes never hurt. If you're really behind on board state board wipes are what you need. So maybe two more planar outburst. Other than that this looks really nice! I hope it works well for you.

Depends on the kind of control deck you're going for, you can also always have more wipes in the board for the matchups you really need them for.

No doubt there is room for improvement in the SB. Although for control it usually comes down to accurate SB strategies towards the meta to be successful. I was not wanting to play any Planar Outburst, but the two in the main were a concession to the fact the format requires the board be reset from time to time. I do wish there were some better drawing mechanics in standard. There are times were the deck runs out of gas and never recovers.
