Deck Description

American CTRL in standard is kind of a weird beast right now. I feel like it's about disrupting your opponents board early/mid game and dropping cards like Assemble or Elspeth. Syncopate can be surprisingly good against midrange decks trying to drop that mid game card they might have as their "finisher."
Aetherling is an obvious CTRL choice, he's been a favorite since he showed up on the map. UWR is really about tokens and board power though... so get those Assemble the Legion on board..... even 1, if you can keep it on board is enough to ruin your opponents life.

Board choices are meant to take care of a variety of matchups.
Counterflux for the CTRL mirror...
Negate to take care of quicker decks that run cheap spells.
Blind Obedience to shut down aggro.
Quicken for cantrips and to tighten up the deck against creature decks so you might be able to Quicken into a Verdict.
Memory Adept for the Mirror or against slow decks.
Revoke against Gods.
Mortars for more removal as I'm pretty sure it's the only removal that can take out a Blood Baron... among other things.

How to Play

Obviously its a CTRL deck so it takes a little bit longer game time to play it right.
Don't be afraid to drop spells like Assemble against creature decks with no enchantment removal.
Assemble is really the best win condition in the deck.
Play concisely and make smart choices. It's not Esper so you're not getting looks at your opponents hand but it's pretty versatile against a variety of decks.
