Deck discussion for Heartless Summon in my way!

What's the purpose of Priest of Urabrask in this? Won't he automatically die with Heartless out? I thought the mana pool drained after each step of your turn...

im guessing you cast him for 3, he dies and you use his mana for a 5 damage brimstone Volley

Yeap! and the other reason is to bring at turn 3 titan or wurmcoil! its just like a "red" dark ritual!

Manapool does not empty at the end of each step or phase.

The manapool empties just after all the "end of your turn" and "in the next endstep" effects have resolved, and just before the discard phase.
After the discard phase your turn has ended.

I am a Tornoment judge and no you are wrong sir the person above is correct mana emptys after every step After "Pre-combat Main" and so on not after every phase but yes after every step. hopes this doesn't make you mad couse that can severly screw up afew decks if you don"t know that rule.

Brimstone valley makes sense, yes. Absolutely... But if you tap the three for the priest, then you have only three left. Next step those extra three drain out, so the wurmcoil idea doesn't make sense to me. You still wouldn't be able to pull a turn three coil. At least not the way I see it... I'm probably missing something important, but I don't see it.

at turn 2 you cast heartless summoning. Turn 3 you cast priest (it cost only 1red to cast and you get 3red mana for it when it comes in to the table) so you can bring the titan or wurmcoil and you have 1 mana left! its like dark ritual in this deck if you get it? :)

Ok, yes. I get it now. lol. Thanks... Fantastic deck list btw. I've been trying to design something similiar with White/Black... I Love Elesh Norn, but I think this list might be a tad bit better than the one I was designing. Much kudos, sir.

What about perilous myr. If y don't have heartless summoning it will help slow down your opponent in the early game and if you do have heartless summoning, it's a free sorcery speed shock that can enable morbid.

i was thinking about the myr but i place it for walkkers.. and i like it, and liliana is so much better! but on the other side i like too the ability that it gives morbid. i try to test it anyway. so thanks for the tip!

Myr Superions. Their two mana to cast but only creature mana will do. Heartless makes them free and still quite large.

i was thinking about it but i dont like it on the other side becose it dont have any awsome ability and it really needs the heartless summoning!

Actually, you can cast Superion with the mana generated by Priest of Urabrask.

Nice, but U need more lands... No matter, the 4 summoning, this is instabil... Put despise in the sides instead of of 1 Zenith & 1 Bloodline, wich U need 2 take out... 3 Volley is enough... than U can put in 3 lands... 1 summit, 1 swamp & 1 "Evolving Wilds"... Only my opinion :) ...

Trust me, he does not need any more lands. I've played against this deck sooooo many times when he had this and it was a beast! :D One of my fav decks ever, this one.

Maybe an Infernal Plunge? i can see it working well with the Solemn Simulacrum, you sacrifice it for Infernal Plunge's effect and gain 3 red mana, plus you get to draw a card. Though it costs 1 red, you still have net gain 2 red mana.

Check out my Standard deck, it is completed but I'm looking for ways to improve it:

would be nice but very risky card and priest is that ritual now! then it would be good when scars block is out of standard.

clever.

Maybe consider grave titan or griselbrand? They're pretty good.

I have a heartless deck I have taken to 2 Top 8 SC IQ events. Mine is UB. I considered GraveT for mine a while but his effect is horribly gimped by the -1/-1 of heartless summoning. Of all the titans he pays the most for it. All the rest still keep maximum punch for their ETB effects and attacks. His becomes 50% less effective and with the release of AVR Griselbrand while nice is such a late game effect he may never make a difference. At most you run a 1 or 2 of in a heartless deck.

Interesting take on heartless I like the idea, but seems like more than most heartless builds you 'HAVE' hit those heartless or you are boned.

I thought about a RB build for a while, but decided on my UB in the long run because of consistency. Blue's draw/pitch abilities make it way more consistent. Check my build out and let me know what you think. Thanks.

+1 This deck kicks butt. I do think Havengul Lich needs to be in this deck. Such a superstar in this style of deck. I think the overall build is phenomenal, I would maybe look into a cheaper curve. I know heartless summoning eliminates your worries, but regardless, if it is removed or you don't pull it, you hate life. Just some thoughts.

i would love your input on a black sacrifice deck I built, if you have the time!!

Pretty nice though I'd have to say my friends is better. He plays 4 runescarred demons, 2 Sheoldred Whispering one, 4 perilous myr, 4 metamorphs ( with heartless out there basically $8 phantasmal images whithout the target sacrifice thing) 2 havengul lich's ( pain in the ass) and 4 myr superions plus heartless's and lands.

Really like this deck. only problem is someone said above me already that this relies heavily on heartless. I think maybe either tone down the reliance on heartless, or make absolutely sure that heartless drops. to that end I'd suggest you ditch Chandra and add in card cheats or more draw mechanic (viscera seer, altar's reap or phyrexian arena.) With all the life loss something for life gain wouldn't hurt to balance this deck out. Please have a look at my deck and tell me what you think :) http://www.mtgvault.com/ViewDeck.aspx?DeckID=329716

Also please give me your opinion of my Ramp version. Thanks! http://www.mtgvault.com/ViewDeck.aspx?DeckID=340818

Increasing Ambition saved me multiple times this past FNM. A wurmcoil or Karn ends a game quickly and a ratchet bomb find and play same turn can just level a token deck!
