This is a deck that likes to cheat a lot of basic lands into play using Veteran Explorers ability that is trigger upon the card entering the graveyard. There are many ways to help Veteran Explorer, such as Cabal Therapy,Pernicious Deed, Birthing Pod, Fleshbag Marauder, Garruk Relentless, and Phyrexian Tower. This will give you a significant advantage against most other legacy decks as they typically do not run more than one basic land. Now you can take advantage of your mana by casting bigger creatures that do not typically appear in this format and beating your opponent down, while keeping their board in check with Pernicious Deeds, Shriekmaw, Sower of Temptation and Reclamation Sage as well as their hand with Cabal Therapy.
