Deck Description

** FNM** update.
I didnt do very well...
First match Jund Control.
Game one started well, untill he stole everything with Olivia.
Game two he had bad draw, I had the nuts!
Game three, he rolled me..

Second match, played a young kid, kinda felt bad for him...

Thrid match against Zombies
Game one I had the perfect draw, and crushed him by turn 4.
Game two, I got mana hosed.
Game three, very tight race, he got me in the end with direct damage.

Fourth match, fun home brew using Primordial Hydra, and Corpse Jack.
Game one, I got mana flood
Game two, I got mana flood again...

Lessons learned.
If I would have remembered to take my side board, I would have easily won all matches, except Jund Control. He went undefeated to my knowledge.

Small stuff up front, large stuff in the rear! :)

Deck discussion for G/W midrange

I think a 4th Temple Gaurdian is almost needed.
Grove of the Gaurdian is fun but i'm not sure if it is actually that great.
It is colorless land and I think by the time you get it activated you will already have other large creatures.

If I can trade for it, I will be adding a 4th Temple Garden.
I dont think I need to drop the Grove Of Guardian. Only running one should'nt hinder anything.

Eh I disagree. Couldn't get the right lands in several sample hand draws. I think 1 colorless needs cut for a colored.

-1 rancor, +1 charm.
Charm is usable in more situations and can be used at instant speed as a nice combat trick.

I will be adding the extra Charm to the deck. I agree with dropping one Rancor.

Also just realized trostani is a legendary. That blows. I think Centaur Healer is a fantastic card that you should try to squeeze 1 more of in. -1 strangle root geist, +1 Healer

Thragtusk is a boss given you ramp with 5 card he should be an auto include he hurts people so much even compared to armada wurm he tough he kills one token gains enough life to fog the other and leaves a beast on the way
So -2x dryad militant
+2x thragtusk
-4x rancor it's good but not that good really for a swarm deck
And
+1x armada wurm
+3x wayfaring temple

I like how you went a more swarm approach then populate centric approach

I would love to add another Thragtusk, but at $15 each im not willing to buy another one. With any luck I can trade one at the next FNM.
I disagree with dropping all 4 Rancor's. I think going to 3 might be the right number.
I should have the extra Wayfaring Temple's this week.

I really like Dryad militants. But with the amount of 1 drop ramp you play trollking might be right about cutting them from main board. They should def go in sideboard though for a few match ups.

I don't think you need the 4th Armada wurm, but I do agree with the addition of 1-2 more thragtusk
and maybe just 1 more wayfaring temple at most.
I'm really not digging 3 rancor still.
-2 rancor. Maybe consider replacing with +1 call to conclave and +1 seles charm.

I've changed my mind again, again lol. only -1 rancor, +1 call to conclave.
I think a 3/3 often brings more to the table than making one of your creatures bigger.
Has more synergy with populate, trostani, grove of gaurdians, and wayfaring temple.

Not bad at all I like it my only thing is maybe -1 trostani and +1 thragtusk he just seems more useful to the core function of the deck whereas trostani just seems to be an off to the side healer...


Check out my Elf Control and Fury of the Elder Dragons decks :)

If I had more Thragtusk, I would add them. They are incredible in every deck that splashes green.
As I said a few comments before, I wish I would have bought them when they were $5, not $15...

Updated deck again.
Took out all mana dorks. They just dont seem to do anything after the first couple of turns. Its an awfull draw after the first turn or two.
Added two Keyrunes, one land and some more fat!

What! you dropped all the mana dorks? They are still Okayish mid game becuase you play rancor and seles charm. I agree with dropping a few but all of them seems a bit excessive.
Suggested Changes:
+2 dorks.
+1 call to conclave
-1 Wayfaring Temple
-1 Armada Wurm,
-1 land.

I think with mana dorks you play at least 6, or none at all. You really only want them in the first turn or two. Mid to late game I would rather draw almost anything else.
Ill be playing again Friday, so ill post the results.
