Well in my play group leyline of sanctity shows up a lot so I personally like 3 or more Red Elemental Blast/Pyroblast, Lions Eye is awesome to give you that turn 2 win and is good for getting wurmcoil into your graveyard to use goblin welder.

I would suggest trying out Llawan, Cephalid Empress or Trinket Mage (surprisingly has won me the game more than once).

Hi there again crowns, I gotta say I am intrigued again by your card choices. Tezzeret is a great card with artifact based decks and is a great win condition or searcher but is it really worth running 3 or 4 in a painter combo deck? I am worried he slows the combo more than he helps it, Wurmcoil is already an awesome second win condition. How have the play tests been going?

Crucible is a Force of Will worthy target in most cases, it opens up the door to too many headaches.

Here is a really fun version of painter that I made that had Tezzeret, its not competitive level but its still very capable. You could get some ideas of other black splash options.

I look forward to hearing about your trials with Tezz/painter/welder!

I think you are running too many low cost creatures for this deck to work out. You will be destroying all of your own stuff with Pernicious Deed.

Eva Green is usually heavily focused on being a black control deck so I think you should replace some of your creatures with Inquisition of Kozilek, Thoughtseize, Smother, Go For Throat. Its game plan is to keep the opponent so suppressed early on that you have time to get your bigger creatures on the table.

Creatures you should consider are Tombstalker, Nantuko Shade, and Hypnotic Specter.

As is this deck almost looks more like a Rock or Junk deck.

But either way it looks like the deck is shaping up very nicely. Good luck!

Looks like a fun deck. Have you thought about putting Melira in here? She makes you and your creatures un-damageable when Everlasting Torment is is play and she gives Kitchen Finks the ability to persist infinitely. Too bad Everlasting Torment prevents Kitchen Finks from giving you health while its out.

Have you considered Hex Parasite?

Here is a fun Melira infinite persist build I put together if you are interested.

Nice build, looks pretty fun. Only thing it seems to lack is Geist of Saint Traft. I would cut Luminarch Ascension for it. Also I would go 4 Lingering souls and 2 Devouring Greed.

Here's a W/U build of mine if you are interested.

Thanks!

I have been playing around with the numbers on my creatures and haven't settled 100%. The only creature that has an ensured 4 spot is goblin guide. Its a tough call for me hence the 2 and 2, i like keldons 3/3 and immediate damage but lavamancer can really help me control the field and gives me more reoccurring damage. Although cutting them gives me a good reason to take out arid mesa and save myself some more life which has been a problem in some games when the Sulfuric Vortex clock is going.

I was considering trying ratchet bomb but was afraid it would be too slow. In my meta especially there are a lot who like leyline of sanctity so I went with Anarchy. Do you have any experience playing ratchet bomb in rdw or burn?

I really like this deck build. You have done a great job of pulling off a standard version of the rock.

I have a few suggestions though. I think you should consider taking out Rampant Growth and putting in something like Viridian Emissary or even Dawntreader Elk.
I would also like to see a single Grave Titan in here, despite not being able to green sun for him, he is a game winner. A single Karn or Lilian aren't bad ideas either.

Good luck with the deck!

Yeah those were just possible suggestions, I can certainly see your choices working out great. You can see how it plays out with and without the Careful Study. I personally think that it needs to stay in. Even with Faithless having flashback, most of the time you will probably play it like a regular study. Dredge has always wanted more than 4 study's so I think 2 study's and 4 faithless (with possible flashback) should run very nice. I would almost like to see 2 more study's but there is nothing to trim as is.

This looks really nice. Faithless looting is a great card for Dredge. I have a few thoughts for you to consider, but they are minor because this deck already looks really solid.

Personally I don't know that I would go through the trouble of putting in Bloodghast. You are a little light on mana as it is even with the LED. I personally would cut them and maybe replace 2 of your Undiscovered Paradise for 2 or 3 Gemstone Mine.
Maybe sneak a single Darkblast in place of a Golgari Thug.
Never really seen Sun Titan in dredge before but now I am wondering why not. It seems great with the deck.

Great build, good luck with the deck!

This looks like a fun build. I have been thinking of building a bear deck exploiting Sylvan Library and Words of Wilding. Rancor is also always a solid card. Here is my current build idea if you are interested.

Personally I like them. I would consider him more useful than bloodthrone for its speed and cost. But in this build without kitchen finks he may not be quite as useful.
There has been a few cases where I have Melira in play with Viscear and Safehold Elite on the board but nothing to deal fatal damage with. In that case I can scry as many times as I like until I get the card I need such as Murderous Redcap or Blasting Station and then I leave that on top of my library so at least by next turn I will have everything I need to win.
Fallen Ideal is a pretty neat Idea but I personally think you will get more use out of Duress for its cost.

No problems, glad to help.

Hi there. This is a nice build and you have done well at keeping the cost low. I have plenty of suggestions but most are pricey so instead take a look at my build to see if there is anything you like. My build is very similar except with more search and control.
http://www.mtgvault.com/ViewDeck.aspx?DeckID=189723

At the very least I suggest cards like duress because its a lot easier to make your opponent get rid of their combo disrupting cards than it is to recover a lost piece via Evolution Charm. Also Altar of Dementia is a great cheap sacrifice engine and alternative win condition.

Good luck with the deck!

Good sideboard options are graveyard hate like relic of progenitus, Tormod's Crypt, Faerie Macabre, Extirpate, Surgical Extraction and leyline of the Void.
Anti Combo cards like Mindbreak Trap and Thoughtseize,
Pithing Needle, Phyrexian Metamorph and Echoing truth are also useful options.

Nice. I like this build quite well.

Though Scour and Increasing Confusion have been good additions to mill.

Most people underestimate the power of the hedron crab, hes a huge target but left unchecked causes mayhem. Oboro, Palace in the Clouds is also made for fueling Hedron Crab. Play Oboro on turn 3 after crab and atlas then tap it to pay for itself to return it to your hand, then replay it with atlas milling for 6 and you still have 3 untapped lands to play your turn with. Follow that up with a Glimpse and thought scour and you've just milled them down to 30 cards in 3 turns and still have a hand full of cards. Not too shabby.

The biggest problem with mill decks is they have little interaction with the board and is generally a slow win condition. Memnite is the right idea but perhaps Shield Sphere could be a better choice to buy you a little more time. If you let your opponent play creatures and attack freely you will be dead by turn 4 or 5 unless you are blocking the crab and atlas. The best way to combat this is to play something like Propaganda. It slows your opponent down drastically and lets you push ahead with the hopeful turn 6 mill win.

You may also consider Vision Charm over dampen thought. Its instant 4 mill and give added limited disruption options. Arcane hardly ever works.

The only other thing I can suggest is to look at your mana base.
This deck is primarily a blue deck splashed with black so you need more than 6 island. Especially with 8 colorless land. All your cards require blue to play so its crucial to draw a few.
Try 4 Swamp, 6-7 islands and 1-2 Orboro.
I would cut Duskmantle, House Shadow out for some type or dual land. It just isn't a good card and is unnecessary along side Nephalia Drownyard. You should be taping your lands to play spells and really only need to land mill option when you have played out your hand. By that point in the game 1 mill still isn't good. Run 4 dual lands instead such as Darkslick Shores or Drowned Catacomb.
Obviously Polluted Delta is preferred over Evolving Wilds but its so expensive.
Your mana curve is really low so you can probably cut down a bit to 21 or 22 lands and maybe cut back on the number of dream twists to free up room for propaganda.

Hope some of those suggestions help. Good luck with the deck!

Mogg War Marshal should be used instead of Dragon Fodder.
4 Great Furnace
Perhaps Perilous Mry in Ichor wellsprings place.
Doubt its worth it but a single Goblin Warrens could be fun.
Personally I would cut Goblin Grappler for Mogg Fanatic
Maybe find some room for a few Skirk Prospector or Brightstone Ritual or rite of flame

Hope that helps, good luck with the deck!

Looks nice, pretty similar to what I am running. I ended up taking standstill down to 3 because if I don't have a vial in play then it can be a dead card. It is amazing with vial in play however so I think 3 feels like the right amount.

I personally like Chill better than Blue Elemental Blast personally because it causes a lot more long term disruption. It could just be in my play group though, I haven't played in any tournys. I would also drop Merfolk Sovereign down to 3 or 2 and find room for Kira, Great Glass-Spinner and maybe Sower of Temptation which give the deck a lot more tricks.

Here is my current version if you are interested.

The key word is "Put". When something is put into the battlefield it pretty much gets to ignore the rules and nothing triggers. It is not being played or cast. So essentially you cast green sun zenith, it resolves and then Druid Arbor or any green creature appears on the battlefield. By the logic you are using terramorphic expanse and all other fetch lands are non functional.

This is a really nice build. I have a few ideas that you could consider.

Running white it could be a good idea to play Orim's Chant which can clear the way to play all your combo cards uninterrupted or protect yourself. Swords to Plowshare is always nice too.

Fauna Shaman is great but it can't quite replace Green Sun Zenith, IMO.
Eternal Witness helps recover combo pieces. So does Sun Titan and hes a solid second win condition.

Take a look at two versions of Melira I have been tinkering with if you like and good luck with your deck!
