Deck Description

This is a Painter's Servant and Grindstone Combo deck.

Painter's Servant makes all cards have a color of blue(or any color). Then you can mill their entire deck out with Grindstone with one activation. You can also destroy or counter any card with Pyroblast or Red Elemental Blast.

Lion's Eye Diamond, Mox Opal and Lotus Petal speed things up a lot and make a Turn 1 win possible. It is also easy to pull off a turn 2 or 3.

Jace, Brainstorm, Sensei's Top and gamble let me search for combo pieces.
Goblin Welder and Academy Ruin let me recover anything that was put into my graveyard.

Spellskite is there for back up to protect my important cards.

I am trying to make this my most premium deck and want to keep it Legacy Legal. I would love to replace the Steam Vents with Volcanic Island and the Intuition with Imperial Recruiter but I have a hard time spending more than $60 on any card. However feel free to suggest any card regardless of price.

All comments and suggestions are greatly appreciated.

ok i REAAAAALY like goblin welder in this deck because the painter and the grindstone are like massive targets for removal, so your going to deffinately want lots of 0 costing artifacts to switch them with
and if you decide to update this deck to be legacy legal here are mu suggestions for the open slots:
shield sphere (u gunna shit yo pants)
isochron scepter (but only if you also put in blue elemental blast otherwise you wont have enough cards to make it viable, but if you do then you van nuke something every turn and keep controll of the game till you achieve victory)
blue elemental blast
orim's chant (only if you decide to add the scepter, but youll have to splash white)

check this deck out? their really similar but its my own spin on the idea

Thanks for checking out my decks and for the suggestions. I am always tinkering with different builds of this combo. Goblin Welder is awesome in this deck. He makes gamble work even if you end up discarding the card you need. He also helps recover cards and can play well with Lions Eye Diamond.

I think you are mixing up Vintage with Legacy. Divining Top and Lotus Petal are both completely legal in Legacy. Sadly Sol Ring is banned in legacy. Lotus Petal and Sol Ring are restricted to 1 in Vintage.
My play group was casual for a long time but it finally got so ridiculous that we all started playing legacy to bring some fairness back into the game.

This is definitely one of the best combo in recent times, perhaps that's why my play group don't wanna see it any more..lol

The greatest enemy for a painter/millstone deck is Extraction-decks, Arti-hater decks and Hard-Discard. Thats why I prefer to have a second combo or thing to do.
Wurmcoil Engine works damn good with Welder or if you are forced to discard. -And with Gamble and/or Intuition as well. Takin out one of each Arti lands could be a opportunity.

Also switch one Pyroblast Red out for one Elemental Blast just in case.
Know im not playin Lagacy but check out my deck if you not already have :) peace...

Thanks for the suggestions. Wurmcoil Engine is a very interesting ideal that I hadn't considered before. I will have to play around with a new build. Thanks!

I would add fetchlands so that you can shuffle dead cards away, when using brainstorm. I would also ad force of will, though that card does cost much.
