Deck Description

Mono-red Molten Psyche/Runeflare Trap deck.

Achieving metalcraft early is very important for this deck, which puts a lot of value on the cheap artifacts. Ideally, you'll drop a bunch of artifacts early, ramp up a bit with Chalices, and then force your opponent to draw a lot of cards with Temple Bell/Voltaic Key and then hit them with a Molten Psyche. If you had enough cards in hand, you'll hopefully draw enough burn to finish them off, but it's all in your luck.

Koth and Chimeric Mass are in as alternate win conditions and finishers. Since this deck doesn't fare too well against life gain, it needs repeatable damage. Both of these are powerful "creatures" that are immune to Day of Judgment and sorcery-speed removal, making them great against control. Lux Cannon also punishes decks that want to last into the late game.

As for the sideboard, Dragon's Claw is a must against other mono-red decks, considering that this deck is much slower than RDW. The extra Effigies are for taking out big threats I can't burn out, such as Titans, Baneslayers, and Wurmcoil Engines. Pyroclasm and Lightning Bolt go in against fast creature-based decks, and Mimic Vat is just excellent in so many matchups I had to include it somewhere.

Deck discussion for Burning Brains

I dont ever like to give my opponent card advantage seems a little flawed in that sense but looks pretty versatile anyways..

That's why it needs so much removal. Hopefully you'll only have to use the Temple Bells to finish off your opponent, but sometimes it's necessary to use them early, and giving your opponent free cards can hurt. I've been thinking of making a B/R deck with a lot of discard to counteract that, but I don't think it's totally necessary.
