I love Simic, cant wait til Gatecrash. I'm building different varieties of Simic decks to see which one is the best and if any are good enough build and bring to FNM. This deck wants to stall with defenders while it ramps up to cast a game-winning Primordial Hydra. It also has Predator Ooze(indestructible protection) and Nightshade Peddler(makes opponents attacks costly and allows me to win a war of attrition), which combo well together. Dawntreader Elk can be sacrificed after blockers are declared for protection and ramp. Downsize stops one or all of my opponent's creatures for a turn. Somberwald Sage is a huge jump in mana available for the Hydra. Alchemist's Refuge has a couple of great tricks. Against control with board wipes and sorcery-speed removal, I can play creatures on an opponent's end step to ensure at least one turn of use with them. It also turns Nightshade Peddler into an amazing combat trick. An opponent attacks, then I give one of my blockers deathtouch and add another deathtouch blocker. I've been debating whether or not to drop a few creatures for some more control cantrips like Think Twice or Inaction Injunction. I'm also not sure what needs to go in the sideboard for this. Any opinions would be greatly appreciated.

I was going for this idea, but it was just to easy to remove the Hydra. What do you think about using Sheltering Word, Mizzzium Skin and definitely Elgaud Shieldmate? Possibly Mask of Avacyn too.

I really like this deck. The ooze and peddler is a sick combo! Please check out my Simic deck and let me know what you think of it. This is my casual Simic (blue/green) deck. I love Simic, and would be happy to see anything you came up with, but I'm really only interested in standard. Check out some of my other Simic decks, I' 've built several to try to figure out the best way to play sonic in standard. I think I'm just gonna have to wait for Gatecrash. Too bad the sonic landslide isn't in it though, instead it's Domri and Gideon.
