Revised, new version more consistent, but less threatening early game.
Please comment if you have a suggestion or some advice. This is a Jank Thought Experiment that I want to play in a meta-based event. Also, lands are just mountains, because they don't matter yet, unless the lands can benefit the idea of the deck. Non-basics for proper colour-base are important, but this is just for the mechanics of the deck.
Illness is to make the Trespasser's Curse/Forbidden Orchard combo more viable. That's where the true power is in this deck. The Metal-craft is nice because drain 4 and a 4/4 body is pretty nice, and it might close out a game, or get you back into a safe position.Gray merchant is perfect. I forgot he existed to be honest. Mono-Black Devotion with Geralfs Messenger might be another path as well.More of the synergy lies in the etb effects. All my other decks on my page are centered around the Hunted creatures interacting with the Curse. This version is exploring the draining life concept a little deeper, but it runs into problems of removal and digging for the synergy. Dark Legion Zealot and Champ of Dusk are not nearly enough to get the pieces together.I've played the hunted versions in tourneys and kitchen top a fair bit, and the biggest problems are assembling, and managing the opponents creature base. So far a grixis control shell with sweepers works best.
Thanks Muktol! I haven't had the chance to finish this list, and I'm not sure that I would. It's a little bare on interaction and was more for thinking of similar draining effects to the curse. If you look closer, there are 14 cards that make artifacts. The metal craft creature is CMC = 5. Theoretically, by the time you can play that creature, you should have 3 artifacts on the field.I'm trying to figure out a version of this deck where every single card has a drain trigger on etb, then pair with Panharmonicon. Parasitic Strix seems fun with this as well.
I wanna make it, just to be a jerk for a week. tested vs other moderns?
Yo! I think you take out the Disintegrations unless you have a larger artifact base. Maybe play 2 of, but 3 mana removal gets steep if you just played something big mainphase, and need an answer as an instant. If you're playing soul-scar, definitely go burn spells. Blur of blades is reduntant with him, but the 2 dmg to controller too is pretty awesome.I really like a 1 or 2 off Wildfire eternal. Afflict isn't played enough, and if they can't stop damage from going through, then they are screwed. Free expensive spells seems nice.
yea I agree with Ded, your opponent just sits on a shock to blow up the runner, or gets spell quellered, or gets Harsh Scrutinied. I love the idea of fast folks and infinite combat, but it dies too easily in this format. Maybe out the plunderer for a couple uncounterable snake cats?
I love it! I have a similar deck utilizing Magnivore, but I think your creature hate and creature base is stronger. I focus on aggressive self milling and using Locket of Yesterday and Rise from the Tides as my alternate win-con.Maybe look at the Aftermath cards to get some instant speed spells in there, while still focusing the Magnivore synergy.http://www.mtgvault.com/noadbrush/decks/grave-matters/
Please add Comments to help me out. I am playing in the Calgary Open from F2F games on Aug 26th for fun, but I don't want to be completely destroyed :D.
