Deck Description

Use your bank account on nearest MTG marketplace website and buy some cheap cards, craft a deck, and challenge your friends! To double the fun, ask your friend to create such a deck too!
The Budget Decks -series is meant for your free time! These are meant to inspire you, and deck's value is meant to be low! (Between 10 and 20 bucks.)

How to Play

Inspired by puppyloafer.

This modern Jeskai deck unleashes some heavy spellslinging towards your opponent. Burn all the blockers, swing a whole lot of damage through, win the game.
Simple, workable and lots of fun.

Deck discussion for Budget Decks: Jeskai Funtime

so you can run cheap free spells with kiln fiend for epic early wins! a cool chain is gut shot, then noxious revival it, then gitaxian probe to draw the gut shot again, then play it again!! thats 4 spells for no mana, so if you lightning bolt them and they have no blockers you win!

I would suggest Nivix Cyclops in place of the dragonauts. He gets crazy, and fast.

I agree. I love that cyclops :p Dragonauts do have flying though......Just depends on what you like more I guess.

Flying, all the way.

When choosing over Wee and Nivix the deciding factor (to me) was the fact Cyclops has 4 toughness and gets a bonus +1/+0 over Wee. This makes him unboltable and a slight power advantage.

Northy.
You have a favorite mono white deck?
Or a favorite mono red deck?

I never have anyone to play against.
My wife will play occasionally.
So, since I can't go play my one Mtg friend...I figured once or twice a month I could convince my wife to play.
I thought, "If i make a budget deck of ever color, it will be affordable to buy, and easy to play my wife with."

I already have a mono blue budget deck done.
I have a mono green budget deck close to being done (missing 3 cards)
I have a mono black budget deck close to being done (missing 4 cards)
I just need a mono red one and a mono white one.

Favorite white and red decks?
I'm not sure about them, but I can help you with another way too:

I can create two NEW budget decks, both as cheap and simple as possible, yet still they could have some chances in casual playing.

How about that?

Not necessarily simple. I want cheap and good.
She can learn the deck, in time, no matter how difficult.
So far I have:
Green - land destruction
Blue - bounce
Black - creature sac

I am thinking:
Red - burn
White - creature overrun

I have a few days out of college...and might see what I can do.
I was just wondering if you had seen any special white or red deck that really amazed you.

But you are more than welcome to see what you can come up with, Northy.
I know you do Budget justice.

Here is a challenge. Make a budget red deck around creatures like
Viashino Sandstalker
Viashino Sandscout
Glitterfang
Archwing Dragon

Fast red creatures that go back to your hand.
Maybe use cards like Pyroclasm that nukes the opponent's creatures (yours will be in your hand)
And maybe use cards that have "when leaves play" or "when enters play" abilities that the creatures will trigger by constantly being casted.

Good luck, if you take on the challenge.

I've never done it, but my play group in town is pretty small, and I heard that people do, so I thought I would try.

Sounds interesting. I don't care for Skype enough to try it, but more power to those who do! It's pretty cool that ppl are getting that into mtg I suppose.

On a side note, looks pretty solid for a budget. Made a not so budget version myself;

Assault Strobes, even though they are sorcery, combo well with Kiln Fiend and Wee Dragonauts for a finishing blow.
