How to Play

Inspired by spudshaver.
This deck is meant to attack quickly through defenses and crippling your opponent by killing his/her creatures.

-Dauthi Warlord and Stronghold Overseer are primary victory cards, since they can both hit hard when needed.
-Both Geth's Verdict and Grasp of Darkness are powerful destroyers.
-Annoy your opponent and ruin their game by changing targets with Imp's Mischief.

Deck discussion for Budget Decks: Shadow

I like it! You tossed in a little defense too, just in case they resist the wave of shadows.

I think this deck needs 4x Duress, Its an affordable spell and the deck needs one-drops. Maybe's Raven's Crime?

I like the deck, you dont see the shadow mechanic played very often.

There is a good amount of damage from the shadows (in theory), leaving the rest of your cards to provide utility.

Nice deck! Also, I love the art of all old black creatures, they all look a lot scarier than the new ones :D

Quietus Spike would be really good, most of your creatures will never be blocked.

Maybe drop in a nightmare, since you do, after all, have 20+ swamps?

what does shadow do?

0

It's an older mechanic that almost made a revival. Creatures with shadow can only block or be blocked by creatures with shadow. The realistic idea behind playing a shadow creature now would be the same as playing an unblock-able creature that can't block; you could assume your opponent won't have shadow.

Maybe swap Wall of Bone for Wall of Souls, unless you need the regen mechanic?

Regeneration is always nice, since it makes them more usable.

Grasp of Darkness --> Dismember
It may be a little more costly on the life total, but I've found it can be extremely useful removal in a pinch

I think Grasp of Darkness works a little better... Since we already have life-paying with Imp's Mischief.

I'm a fan of Shadow decks, you don't seem them very often and more times than not they can catch even a skilled player off guard because they rarely have a way to stop you.

I would prefer to have a black/green version and i would be tempted to go with 4 Qspikes.

Four Quietus Spikes become quite an expensive...

Lol I don't worry about the cost much. Trading is also an option, folks like me because i don't care about the condition of the card. As long as i can put it in a sleeve and it is straight and readable i'm happy.

i would also like to suggest to put bad moon in this deck.

I would run 4 nether traitor in this deck for sure. I would take away the walls and the Dauthi Horrors.
