Deck Description

Do you want to play EDH? Don't you have an EDH deck? Do you think most of those ready-to-play-decks cost too much for your desires?
...Or do you just think you can't figure out a funny idea for your EDH deck?
NO MORE!
Budget EDH-series is meant for players that want to play EDH.
They are playable and their price is low! (Between 25 and 50 bucks.)

How to Play

Inspired and requested by Westbeast77.

Thraximundar is the greatest and most murderous assassin the multiverse has ever seen. Once you get him going, he won't just kill the target, he eviscerates everyone he or she has ever known.

This EDH is especially effective in 1v1 situations.
Several mana-ramp artifacts help you get Thraximundar on the field more quickly. Once he is in, sh** hits the fan really quickly. Numerous killing spells and counterspells ensure that your opponent doesn't get up easily. Once all of his/her creatures and spells are unusable and he/she gets hit by Thraximundar again and again, your opponent soon falls.

I am absolutely stoked that this deck exists!!! I've been trying to build a grixis commander deck for SOOOOOO long and this one is pretty good! I may just have to order it!

Are there any planeswalkers that would be good choices but not break the $50 max?

Hmph...
Ral Zarek could work, also Jace, Architect of Thought is cheap.
Those two are the first to come in mind.

Also, the Nicol Bolas himself doesn't cost that much for a Planeswalker, maybe around 6 or 7 bucks.

What Northy said, Nicol is a pretty decent pick up for this deck at only around $8 or so.

But... but... Thraximundar is a sacrificing commander! I would put in more sacrifice. But still good deck! +1

Glad to finally see a Thrax deck! I run a Thraximundar commander, myself.
Have you considered Rooftop Storm? It doesn't break budget AND its a free Thraximundar cast. Even just a single turn earlier can make Thraxi more deadly.

Instead of Augury Owl, play Shriekmaw
It's a 3/2 with fear, and you can evoke it for a doom blade
I also suggest Go For the Throat, Victim of Night, and also Snuff Out, hell and even Murder is good too.
But overall, I really like this build, and the budget part is just a plus.
Great job

I like it alot! Have you had much success with it so far?? I'm trying to build a commander deck at the moment. Struggling. Haha. Check it out if you have a chance. Oh yea. What is that old legend 10 power creature for 3 or 4 mana?! I know for sure it is Grixis colors!!

This deck is amazing for a beginner! I was at my local hobby store with this deck and won 3 games. Can you make a deck based on Teysa Envoy of ghosts ?

THis looks like a ton of fun, and being sub $50 makes it very budget worthy for being a 100 count deck!
I think i'm gonna get this actually, at some point at least. it looks really fun!

Also curious, do you think Balthor the Defiled could be a good Commander?

Any commander can be a good (or at very least, a funny) one if you put your mind and soul into it! If you want, I can try to cook up a budgety Balthor just for you!

I'd like that a lot, I'm entirely new to commander so looking at your decks is giving me a good grasp of how it's done.
And in bloods case, a deck to build when I have funds =P.
