Drain life can't be the best card that does what it does.. Exsanguinate only does players and tendrils only does creatures.. there's gotta be something better..

Nice deck, the only thing I could see hurting you is mana production, I would add some Dark Ritual's, Blood Pets (for small creature back-up and sacrifice for mana), Gauntlet of Power, Lake of the Dead, Cabal Coffers, Magus of the Coffers, Burnt Offering (on your Kokusho, the Evening Star), Bog Witch, Priest of Gix, or Rain of Filth, to just add a massive amount of mana to play Drained Life, Death Cloud, Consumed Spirit or another great card for this deck is Profane Command, gives you some choices over destruction. Oh, liking the name OctopusOnWheels, lol.
Hey, thanks for the card advice. The way I was running this deck was trying to start quickly (drop a bauble and lens) and use some of the Drain Life to kill off some attacking creatures / regain some of my life from not having any defenders, then dropping Death Cloud to wrath the field, using Debtor's Knell to revive Kokusho (2 legendary = magnificent explosion) which I discarded from Death Cloud. The problem that I had was that I often got mana flooded, or I got aggroed/poisoned to death because I simply couldn't cast enough kill spells quickly enough (as drain life are expensive to use as creature kill). I'll certainly look into those cards that you mentioned, especially Dark Ritual and Blood Pet. I'd still like my focus to be on dropping Death Cloud, but the more life I can get and the faster I can ramp my mana, that would help quite a bit - plus I could take out some of the swamps and replace them with a few more fun cards. Thanks!
Actually, I've run a Sadistic Sacrament in there, with the mana boosts late game from Cabal Coffers / Lens, I can pay the kicker and exile 15 land cards, dropping Death Cloud to wrath most of what they have (creatures, land, and hand) - and with 15 fewer lands in their deck, they're going to be hard pressed for mana.
Yeah being able to play Sadistic Sacrament with massive mana production you could take out there lands fast as hell. You could also toss in some other removal control cards and tear any combo decks apart like, Bitter Ordeal (toss in some mana producing creatures or sacrificing cards to really beef this card up), Shimian Specter, Memoricide or you could run Megrim or Liliana's Caress so with Death Cloud they take even more damage, also you may want to think about running Sanguine Bond (Wound Reflection) with Consume Spirit or Drain Life so the other player takes double life loss with your life gain.
I see a large problem: Extraplanar Lens. It's great for massively increasing your mana production, but what if your opponent is also playing Swamps? You don't want to give part of your advantage to your enemies. The easiest way to fix this: take out the 26 Swamps and replace them with 26 Snow-covered Swamps. Since all your Snow-covered Swamps have the same name, Extraplanar Lens increases your mana production, but it doesn't increase the mana production of someone playing regular Swamps. It's really funny to see in action too: "AHA! You increase my...oh." :-)
