Deck Description

Bant Standard

Aims to produce a token army, and protect it from wrath/return effects with various counters.

Elvish Visionary for card draw, Thragtusk and Armada Wurm for tokens. Deadeye, cloudshift, ghostly flicker to bounce any of those, to multiply the effect.

Parallel Lives increases tokens, and seance to re-use any GY creatures. Cackling counterpart to be used on copies of thrag/armada ideally, or copies of them created with seance.

SB aims to protect this deck from any threat.

Deck discussion for Bant Standard

Well put togeather!.. This deck is about being a professional built!..

Respect!

I really like it how U deal with every type of possible offence...

The only thing that is a little unbalanced here is the CURVE... U should either take out 1 Closet &/or 2-3 Ranks...

U really don't need Ranks... I tried it in my Selesnya & it's 1 of the worst, most ineffective & slowest populate cards in existence...
Use either more Rootborn &/or some Druids Deliverance!..
A 2nd Seance would also be nice somehow...

I love the sideboards!.. Right on the money! :)

My selesnya is at top decks "Parallel Lives"... I also have 2 other decks at top decks, 1 Grixis control & an Azorius control...

However... This is the deck I'm working on right now, if U have the time to help with your suggestions...

cheers poet, yeah, I'm not too sure about the curve myself either..

I'll add another Seance, although playing heavy graveyard decks, it has to come out in favour of rest in peace.

The closet works well here, with armada wurm, thragtusk, but is very limited in other situations.

Think I will lose the closet and ranks, in favour of some druids deliverance, and some ghostly flickers.

Ghostly flicker will help with tokens, as well as acting as a counter card, by making targets invalid.

Many thanks for your feedback on this, very helpful indeed!

this looks very well put together that much is true. and i agree with fixin the mana curve. what if u add in a touch more mana, being a sort of control deck it could use another splash of mana, and maybe forcus more on the wurm also on thraq?? u have plenty of token copy affects to just make it explode with either or. haha then maybe a single copy of craterhoof to push through for leathal late in the game??

hmmm, I think you may be right on adding a little more land, but the problem is what to take out?! Prob lose a deadeye navigator, although that combo's so well with the wurm, visionary and thragtusk, for extra tokens, life and card draw, but it is expensive!

I think I could remove some of the resto angels, since it's really there so i can reuse visionary, wurm thrag, but counterpart, cloudshift and flicker all do this better.

Also considering taking out Geist of Saint Traft. I just don't think it adds enough to the overall strategy of this build.

Thanks for your comment, much appreciated!

Well this deck seems quite prepared for any kind of opponent, and very balanced by that might be this is a build that will make some apperences in future tournaments
I would just, and this is my humble opinion, add Trostani as it really fits in your deck

good luck in the future with your excellent deck

Excellent deck, I can't find any real problem with it, maybe drop a visionary for a pilgrim to have a bit higher chance of ramping?

Right, think I've fixed the mana curve on this bad boy.

Taken out the resto angels, added in Vitu-ghazi and gatecreeper vine. Think this should now work fast and well. Please let me know any more thoughts on this build.
