Because its worth the splash to be able to sacrifice and get them back out in a pinch. especially in multiplayer.
I would suggest that Goblin Grenade isn't worth its weight in multiplayer or single player Vintage. I suggest you try Goblin War Strike as well, so you don't cripple your defensive/offensive abilities doing 5 damage. Also, remember that the only format you can play Recruiter in is Vintage, and you can only run 1 (unless this is a casual deck).
