Deck Description

Semi-Aggro Birthing Pod. Multiple win engines. Need some insight from experienced POD players to see if they think this deck works. I kind of constructed it and then realized a lot of people were using the same (obvious) cards in their decks. Any suggestions on if I should remove/change anything?

Advice is greatly appreciated.

P.S.

You will notice I went no further back than the Scars of Mirrodin block. I don't wish to play any cards earlier than that, as my brothers just got back into Magic after 5 years and started at the Scars block, so I am working with the cards I have and cards that belong to those sets and newer. Thanks :P

How to Play

There are several engines in this deck, mainly you play them as the opponent dictates your next maneuver.

I enjoy playing this way.

Birthing Pod comes out. Next turn sac strangleroot for Deceiver Exarch, which untaps Birthing Pod, allowing you to now sac strangleroot again for Geralf's Messanger.
Next turn, Sac Geralf for a Metamorph, use it on birthing pod, Sac Deceiver for Restoration Angel, then blink out the Geralf's Messenger. He comes back out with counters removed and start again. Next turn you have options and can either repeat the Metamorph trick, or you can use a metamorph on Geralf this time. When, the clone dies it comes back as Metamorph and can be used to either get another birthing pod or can be used to bring out your 5 bomb or can even bring another restortation angel. Good way about bringing lots of damage while not attacking and leaving blockers.

Another way to play is to use an aggresive style up front by going for bladesplicer as your 3 drop and going from there. I suggest this more against an offensive deck like G/W aggro. There is a decent enough mana-creature ratio that without birthing pod, you can still go aggresively until you kill the opponent, or finally pull your birthing pod.
