No. It's a combo deck. Sac Outlet, Persister, and Anti-Persister. Like Viscera Seer, Melira, and Kitchen Finks gets me infinite life.

I've been playing with my version of this deck for a long time now. As soon as Anafenza was spoiled, I put my version of this deck together. I would DEFINITELY run at the very least 2 Chord of Calling. Congregation at Dawn seems like it should be an all star in this deck but it is not. You need 4 mana before you congregate into Collected Company for it to work since you are putting 3 creatures on the top there is no chance to draw into land or anything else for that matter. 24 lands is far too many. I would say 20. You are a straight up combo deck and flooding really hurts you. Birds of Paradise helps fix. Speaking of mana, I would also run horizon canopy and razorverge thicket. Options to draw in a combo deck are huge, especially one not running blue. I would switch Inquisitions for Thoughtseizes since the life from Finks offsets it and it can hit everything. Protection spells are also something you should be running. You can run it however you like, but after much play testing against all types of decks: Kiki, BW Tokens, Little Kid Abzan, and homebrews alike, I can assure on these aspects. If you were curious on my whole list, including sideboard, here it is. http://www.mtgvault.com/paulsturr/decks/collect-calls/
Nah just casual with buddies. And yea it's a meta choice. Not competitive.
Good points. I was worried about not being able to put enough cards in the graveyard but hopefully fetchs will help with that. Any suggestions for dredge? I actually only have 7 cards with delve on it and 2 more if you count skaab.
I disagree, Jessie. It will completely replace Seeker of the Way in Jeskai and possibly even find it's way into Mardu. Just for that alone, the price will be $10. With it's uniqueness and possible brokenness, it could very well find it's way into Modern as well. If that happens, I suspect many people would have wished they would have bought it when it was only $20. You never know though. Magic economics is a very fickle and confusing thing.
Needs creeping tar pit. It's perfect for this deck.
not really a good addition to this deck.
Out of curiosity, which matchups were you thinking of?
How is this more effective?
Steel wall is a 1 drop defender that works with Tezzeret's ultimate. Darksteel relic works with Tezz's -1 and ulti. The point of this deck is to get enough artifacts out to 1 shot the enemy.
I know this is the least of your worries, but if you do build this deck, I have a chromantic lantern you can have for free :D
Increasing Vengeance does the same with flashback for the same CMC. I could add more but then I think the burn to doubling spell ratio's would be a little off.
Guys, this isn't meant to be a competitive deck. I play for fun with my buddies. We often play two's and guttersnipe is better than YP in 2's. I play with 7 miracles because if i do draw a Thunderous Wrath with Increasing Vengeance in hand that's half a 1v1 health with 3 mana.
well the whole point is to have enough artifacts out and kill them all and then scrapyard salvo next turn for the win.
Not a bad idea, but it kinda goes against Rakdos Charm's "each creature does 1 damage to it's controller" because they are sacrificing creatures to get rid of it. But thanks for the input, going in the sideboard!
Cool idea to the deck. +1 from me. I would definitely test it out and see if you need more flicker. If you do, think about Cloudshift for that. But otherwise, looks good!
Yea thoughtseize > duress. Just expensive money wise. What do you suggest I take out for brain maggots?
It's just the cards that I was thinking about adding.
While it definitely is a better card, it is quite expensive money wise. Strategy wise, it is 4 black mana which also hurts, and I like the combo of who do you block, Desecration Demon or Master of Cruelties? 9 times outta 10, you're gonna block the Master and tap the Demon by sacrificing a creature which eventually leads to less creatures to block/sac and I can either win out right with Desecration Demon or I can swing once with Master of Cruelties and then burn. But I totally agree. Obliterator is an amazing card.
Good point. Haha I guess I was just going for "things you worship/stand in awe/control to the end of the earth for 500, Alec"
