Deck discussion for Military Beat Down

LIKE THIS DECK! It's fairly nice and I like the curve, but not to fond of gift of immortality. My suggestion would be to drop all of those and run 3 rootborns.

In my opinion, I would say drop gideon for aurelia and ash zealot for firefist striker. Maybe find room for Cavalry Pegasus? Makes all your dudes fly.

aurelia is sexy, but she is too high cost for this deck and firefist doesnt have haste, while ash zealot does. pegasus is us to him, but i dont feel it is necessary here

Well Aurelia is a awesome card but, with my land only being at 22 main and if i sideboard out Gleam of Battle It would change to 20. Aurelia does not fit in my curve. Firefist striker is amazing, but not at the expense of one of my fast attackers. Cavalry is good and this needs flying, so sideboard.

This is what I run. Despite the monstrosity that is it's curve it does pretty well.

I would take out the gleam of battle for an Aurelia myself. It is the same coat for much more effectiveness. Gideon does not really fit this deck, I would run an elspeth and 1 more land. The deck works off of board control it would seem, Gideon's ultimate ruins that while elspeth's +1 is huge in helping your cause. 1 more land helps your consistency. Hope this helps! Also I would sideboard Rootborn defenses for boros reckoner's and only play the Rootborn in matchups where needed.

I do agree with the swap of I dont use Gideon's ultimate. I get him high in loyalty counters, make him a soldier then combo with Ajani's 2nd ability.
Elspeth costs too much, it would upset the curve but swapping Rootborn and Reckoner is good.

I do not like to rely on combos too much in standard, too much removal. seems as though getting gideon out and having ajani to buff him. I have a buddy that plays a smiliar build and when aurelia hits the board it is generally game over. I do like the build. +1 from me!

im not sure but i think once gideon stops being a creature the +1/+1 counters fall off him

by buff he means using his minus to give him flying and doublestrike

i would suggest replacing sphere of safety with aurelia, the warleader, ive currently been playing a lot with her and she works really well with cards like Tajic and Boros Elite because i causes 2 battalion procs (Tajic becomes a 12/12 indistrructable :D)
