Hey wickeddarkman,

I have never thought of using pithing needle along side dec in store, but it sounds like a neat idea.

Hello Hipponox,

Thanks for the comments.

I like the idea of adding some Castle ardenvale and Emmeria's Call, but i am not sure how many to add, so what do you suggest.

I forgot to set the deck type to pioneer and, as a result, your force of virtue suggestion is not legal.

Legion's landing does not produce soldiers, so it does not synergize with rally the ranks.

Hello Wickeddarkman,

Thanks for the question.

I decided to go with a sideboard based on a recent 5-0 white human deck, with some modifications (https://mtgdecks.net/Pioneer/humans-decklist-by-crzyf0rs3f-1102593).

Note: my friend plays niv to light, so I like to have a strong sideboard against that deck and it's the number one deck in pioneer according to MTGgoldfish, so Its best to be prepared.

2x Selfless Spirit: this saves my creatures against blue/white control decks that use sweepers.

4x Devout Decree: this is a cheap removal against Kroxa, niv to light, and black aggro decks.

2x Rest in Peace: this card is also good against Kroxa decks and mono black decks that want to recur their creatures.

3x Damping Sphere: this is good against Mono-Green Planeswalkers because it shuts down Nykthos, Shrine to Nyx. It also helps against combo decks, which are becoming more rare due to the previous combo bannings.

2x Declaration in Stone: I see this card used against mono black aggro decks because it exiles one of their creatures, which prevents their recurring abilities.

2x Banishing Light: this for non red and black planeswalker decks such as niv to light & Mono-Green Planeswalkers

If my Skyclave Apparition does not work out, i will replace it with 4 Declaration in Stones, which would free up two side board slots and, as a result, I might add in 2x Tocatli Honor Guards because here static ability prevents ETB triggers and would severely hinder niv to light and kroxa decks, plus she is a soldier, so she benefits from rally the rank's lord effect.

Thanks,

Hey LordDeathseed,

Rally the Ranks, from kaldheim, is a safer lord than your 2 main deck Kaheera's because Rally the Ranks is an enchantment and enchantments are harder for your opponent to remove. Therefore I recommend you remove your 2 Kaheera's and add 2 Rally the Ranks.

Thanks,

Hey Uldakh,

I see this deck is unloved for 6 days, so please consider adding the below cards to your super friends list.

Vorinclex, Monstrous Raider doubles your planeswalkers counters when they enter the battlefield, which allow you to activate their ultimate on the turn you cast them.

Doubling Season also doubles your planeswalkers counters when they enter the battlefield, which allow you to activate their ultimate on the turn you casted them.

I Hope this helped.

Thanks,

Hey Alfred,

The normal amount of lands is 24, so i am interested on your thoughts as to why you chose to have 26 lands in your deck?

Same question for the total number of cards, as most decks have 60 card, so i am interested on your thoughts as to why you chose to have 61 cards in your deck?

Thanks,

You're correct in the tidehollow interaction, as I am stilling working on my how to play.

What would you put in place of Aether Vials? I'm thinking charming prince for his flicker effect.

Ghost quarters + flagstones of trokair would be best if Leonin Arbiter was not in play. I have also seen flagstones of trokair in RW taxes decks for ramp.

Thank you for your comments,

So, is your strategy to get the monarch ability and to keep it, so you can keep drawing an extra card at the beginning of your end step?

So this would give you the card advantage needed to get ahead of your opponents and win the game?

Ah, I see, i reviewed your "I still know my mill" deck and realized you were asking this as a mill player and not a D&T player. So yes, leonine arbiter foils your plan, just like foils cracking a fetch, that is, i like to aether vial an arbiter into play in response to my opponent cracking their fetchland and, if they don't have the two mana needed to search their deck, it fizzles and they don't get their land.

Hey, I answered your question. Look at my D&T deck for the answer.

Preamble:

Field of Ruin: Destroy target nonbasic land an opponent controls. Each player searches their library for a basic land card, puts it onto the battlefield, then shuffles their library.

Leonin Arbiter: Players can't search libraries. Any player may pay {2} for that player to ignore this effect until end of turn.

Archive Trap: If an opponent searches their library this turn, you may pay 0 rather than pay this spell's mana cost.
Target opponent mills thirteen cards.

You are playing death and taxes.

Your opponent is playing mill.

Answer:

When your opponent field of ruin's search ability triggers and leonin is on the field, if you opt not to pay to search, the search trigger fizzles and, since you have not searched your deck, you opponent cannot play "archive trap" for free.

"Leonin Arbiter prevents all searching of libraries unless the player who would do the searching can pay 2" (https://magicjudge.tumblr.com/post/163695423800/does-leonin-arbiter-stop-my-opponent-from)

Thanks. I don't know how competitive it will be, but it was fun to build and that's all that matters to me.

Recommendation # 1: remove 1 card so you only have 60 cards to play with b/c it increases your chance of drawing what you need.

Recommendation # 2 : remove 3 Emerge Unscathed & 2x Valorous Stance and add 4 path of exiles. Your building an aggro deck, so a 1 mana exile card is exactly what you need, plus you are removing 5 cards to put in 4 cards, so you will be able to achieve Recommendation # 1 with this one.

Recommendation # 3: add 4 Basri's Lieutenant as he synergizes with your +1/+1 creatures b/c if they had a +1/+1 counter on them and they die, you get a 2/2 knight. Remove Gather the Towns & Return to the Ranks because the 1/1 humans do not synergize with the allies and having only 1 return to the ranks makes it difficult to draw it in a 60 card deck.

Recommendation # 4: add some [Castle Ardenvale]s and remove some plains because for a tap {2}{W}{W} you can create a 1/1 human to trigger trigger your thalia and champion.

Recommendation # 5: move your Brave the Elements to your sideboard because in modern, anger of the Gods is the only sweeper that i normally am concerned about, so when i see an opponent playing red, i normally sideboard in some braves. The same goes for your Oblivion Ring. Finally, your mana curve is low, so i recommend removing 1 plains and running 20 lands.

This gives you 7 cards to work with. I recommend adding 4 Honor of the Pures: [1][w] +1/+1 enchantment and 3 Basri Kets because he can give up to 2 creatures 1 +1/+1 counter and his ult gives you solders at your combat phase.

You could also add some luminarch aspirant's: [1][w] 1/1: At the beginning of combat on your turn, put a +1/+1 counter on target creature you control, and remove your Expedition Envoys b/c they only benefit your allies but does not benefit itself.

Hey there,

I noticed that you are playing Mardu and that you may benefit from the new Mardu Ikoria land.

Savai Triome
Land - Mountain Plains Swamp
(T: Add R, W, or B.)

Savai Triome enters the battlefield tapped.

I too tried to make a Wasteland Strangler deck, so please find the link below for some inspiration.

My first Modern Deck was White Human Weenies https://www.mtgvault.com/philosopher99/decks/white-solders-and-taxes), so please see my below suggestions:

1) Add 4 path of exiles and remove 1 giant killers and 3 Gather the Townsfolk. The reason for this is that Path of Exile costs {W}, it can kill any creature, and it exiles creature, so it cannot come back from the graveyard.

2) Add 3x Kytheon, Hero of Akros' and remove 3 giant killers. Kytheon is an amazing 2/1 for {W} that can turn into a planeswalker if it attacks with two other creatures and if you pay {2}{W}, you can make him indestructible.

3) Add 4x Student of Warfares and remove 4x Grand Abolishers.

The reason for this move is that the purpose of a white human weenies deck is to hit hard and hit fast. Student of Warfare can become a 3/3 first strike on turn two, whereas the grand abolisher only slows down counter decks.

The strategy of this deck should be to try and make your creatures as strong as they can be and as fast as you can make them.

Here are some examples some first 3 turn strategies:

Ex 1) Champion Pumping

T1: Play Champion

T2: Play Lieutenant, causes 2 +1/+1 triggers on Champion, swing in with a 3/3

T3: Play 2 - 3 creatures, pumping champion and Lieutenant, attacking with a 5/5 & 3/3.

Ex 2) Student of Warfare leveling:

T1: Play the Student of Warfare

T2: tap two mana and level student to lvl 2; swing in with a 3/3 first strike creature

T3: play lieutenant or honor, attack with a 4/4 first strike, tap 1 mana, level student to lvl 3

T4: tap 4 mana, lvl student to lvl 7, attack with a 5/5 double strike creature

Ex 3) Kytheon planeswalker transformation

T1: Play Kytheon

T2: play 2 {W} creatures

T3: tap 3 mana to make Kytheon indestructible and attack with all 3 creatures. At the end of combat Kytheon will transform into Gideon, Battle-Forged, and then use his +1 ability to untap one of the two tapped creatures and make it indestructible until your next turn.

A note about brave the elements, if you are concerned about board wipes, I recommend putting brave the elements in your sideboard, as most red decks only have their anger of the gods in their sideboard and will bring it out once they see that you are playing a white weenie deck. This will open your deck up to 4 flex spots that you play with.

you realize that, it's not that fact that you will likely not die from the virus that is at issue, it's the fact that you might have it and spread it to people with pre-existing health conditions and, thus, indirectly cause their death.

I noticed the sunbaked canyon issue last night :(, so I removed them. I sideboarded 3x thought-knot seers because you make a lot of sense when it comes to combo decks. They are $10 at my LGS, so I may pick some up soon because I see that card going up in value once pioneer becomes more popular. Furthermore, I like the card, so I might mainboard it at some point, as it does add more disruption to my deck. Also, the meta is going to the chaotic, so my sideboard may change drastically, as new decks are played.
