I've always wanted to find a way to make Maralen work to my advantage in a format besides EDH, without the enemy just searching for a path to exile and making me cry. So I came up with a fun little combo/control deck featuring her as the catalyst.
Your objective is to basically control the board early, so you can drop Maralen on turn 5. On their upkeep, you want to cast Shadow of Doubt to prevent any searching they could do, and on your turn search for Ob Nixilis, and deal 13 damage to your opponent on their draw step. Since the searching is mandatory, they HAVE to pay 3 life + the 10 life from Ob Nixilis. You can Dash Hopes anything that they could bring out at low life, which forces their spell to be countered, or they lose.
