Land (22)

Sideboard (15 cards)

Instants (15)

Deck Description

Very low cost type II deck

This deck cost me less that $10.00 to make including sideboard. (I got set of 4 Splinter Twin and 4 Myr Reservoir for $1.00 a card)

I tested with using Riddlesmith for card draw instead of Preordains and Preordains are superior.

I tested with Lightening Bolts and Galvanic Blast instead of Pyretic Rituals and speeding up mana with Pyretic Rituals to get to win condition seems superior to minor amount of creature removal.

I also tested with Mimic vat instead of Myr Reservoir and Myr Reservoir is superior because of its mana production.

Dispel tested better than Turn Aside and Mana Leak, but they may be better than Dispel in certain metagame environments.

If you really want to you can increase cost of deck of by using Comet Storm, Myr Battlesphere, or Golem Artisan instead of Fireballs and putting in dual lands, but I doubt you will win a significant percentage of games more often.

Most games are won by Splinter Twinning Myr Galvanizer with one other mana myr in play to create billion Myr Galzanizers with haste. Of course just one counter spell or one fog could ruin the attack so Dispel and one untapped Island would be nice to have when you go for the win ;-)

Deck discussion for Budget Infinite Myr Deck

Maybe drop a few Islands for more Mountains since there are three spells that need Red and two that need Blue? 12 and 8, maybe? Other than that, it's a beautiful deck and I'll definitely head over to BB to pick it up! Thanks for sharing!

Most of the times counterspells are used to counter spells that opponents play during their turn, usually they dont play instant in their turn (at least thats what i do). so you play this during your turn, you actually want to keep a land open to play this thing during your turn?

Hi nicol_bolas,_planeswalker,

Yes, I can see where you are coming from, but the yes dispel is really mostly there to prevent disruption on my turn when I attempt to cast splinter twin. Dispel is there to stop cards like lightning bolt, doom blade, and mana leak on my turn as I cast splinter twin on turn 4 or 5.

you should try it with myr battlespheres instead pyretic ritual. the myr ball, the splinter twin, platinum myr and 2 galvanizers is infinate 1/1 myrs and then next turn an infinate battlesphere.
here's my myr deck. please look. http://mtgvault.com/ViewDeck.aspx?DeckID=126049

Hey, mr.magic,

Yes, I agree with you I even say so in the deck description. You must not of read it.

But this deck is all about trying to get the combo off as soon as possible with a small slight chance of preventing the opponent from disrupting the combo with Dispel and Myr Reservoir. So that is the main reason I excluded it.

Thanks for imput and I'll try to take a look at your myr deck soon.

DUDE! Myrsmith and inspired charge or something...

Hi Multihunter,

Thanks for your input. But this deck is all about getting out the combo as fast as possible, Inspired Charge at 4 mana seems too costly. If you really want to add some good creature/combo protection to this deck add Silence I would except I was trying hard to limit the cost of the deck.

Your idea of adding Myrsmith has a some merit it because it could be used as a finisher card instead of Fireball I guess. But the fireball I feel has more utility because it can be used as a possible early mass creature removal. But the main reason I have no love for Myrsmith is because it does nothing to help the combo go off faster and as it is not Myr, but is instead a human artificer it can't be brought back by Myr Reservoir. So even though it could provide some protective blockers if it lived long enough I doubt that would happen against many decks. Still I appreciate your comments please continue to
make suggestions to challenge me.

Still if you are interest in infinite mana, infinite life, Infinite card draw using Myr please see my
Inifinite Life, Mana, Card Draw etc... Deck and may be add a few Myrsmith to it.

Oh... I hate this deck. I had a friend play infinite fireball and infinite splinter twin on me a few times. But his deck was a bit different and was R/W. He's since scrapped it for a Reaper King deck.

Hi Nianque ,

I'm sort of happy to read you hate to play against this deck. It implies the deck is strong. Unfortunately,
its not as strong as I would like. Post the Reaper King deck if you can I'd like to look at it. I just glanced at all the various Scarecrows and I find the mixture of abilities almost as varied as Slivers. Thanks for input

Excellent deck.

My current Myr deck is mono White and uses Myr Propegator for infinite tokens. I keep intending to acquire two more Splinter Twins to finish off the play set and a second Myr deck, but keep holding off in favor of other trades. The second deck was intended to be mono red, but after seeing this.. well, I can't disagree with any of your card choices :P As I said, excellent deck!

Extra kudos for being built on a budget, though at a glance I'd estimate the cost to be somewhere around $15, not $10 :P

Oh, also wanted to mention, I thought it was amusing that you could almost triple the cost of the deck by replacing the two Evolving Wilds with Scalding Tarn :P

Spell Pierce is soo much better than Dispel! It can hit instants, planeswalkers, sorceries, etc. If you want to go off in the 1st 4 turns or so, it won't even matter that they can sometimes pay the extra 2. It's reallly an awesome card.

Yes, I debated in my mind quite a deal about Spell Pierce and Mana Leak.
But in the end it came down to there are alot of mana ramping decks out there and spell pierce
has a very short life to be used in, basically turns 1 - 3. And this deck really isn't set to go until
about turn 4 or 5. The dispel is there to provide a small slim chance of stopping opponent's counter spell or instant kill card as I try to go off and if I don't hopefully a myr reservoir will help me recover.

Its not that I have anything against hard counterspells (counterspells that counter everything). Look at my sideboard: it has mana leaks. As I said in my deck description other counterspells may work better for you in your meta-environment. My environment has a some red burn and black death but mostly B/U control decks and if I can counter a mana leak, negate, or spell pierce with Dispel on turn 4 or 5 that often is game.

If you already have the fetchlands, then you might as well throw them in :3

A few of my scalding tarns would go great in this deck and E. Wilds would just slow the deck down, granted only a little, but still ;)

Uhhh.. this deck looks pretty cool tbh, and most people probably already have the cards to make this deck. I know I do, I might just throw this deck together when I get the chance.

I would say everflowing chalice for pyretic rituals but it only nets you mana the next turn and doesn't get you colors when you need them.
This deck is frustrating to play against as combo decks usually are...
I do this...
A lot...
Then.....
I WIN.
But faster. *sigh*
Really nothing I can think of to say to improve upon, that hasn't already been said.
Solid deck.

I suggest to replace Preordain... maybe with Ponder.

Thanks!

Hi pantufla,

Ponder is a nice card, but this a Type II Standard Legal Deck and Ponder is not Type II legal.
Thanks for trying.

I'm not sure if I can get a hold of his actual deck list but I know my friend uses Reaper King + Conspiracy to make all his myrs into scare crows then uses a saccing mechanic with... myr turbine I think it is? He also uses Kuldotha Forgemaster to get Reaper King out faster.

Thanks for info Nianque

Reaper King + Conspiracy sounds interesting.

myr turbine doesn't use saccing it uses tapping maybe he used asnod's altar to sac myr make to infinite mana

If you are interested I just finished a deck that uses a scare crow to make infinite mana
Fun with Scarecrows Deck

Hi thGR8D35tr0Y3r,

Thanks for the comment, unless of course you're being sarcastic.
I took at look at your decks and I notice that you like to build low cost decks that are try to be synergistic. This deck is deliberately that type of deck.

If you really like inexpensive decks check out my Priceless Red Vampire deck at Deck link: http://www.mtgvault.com/ViewDeck.aspx?DeckID=252533 maybe you can figure out how to make it even better.
