Deck discussion for Armada Charm

My first thought is replace the Pilgrims, Smiter, and Call of the Conclave for 4 Restoration Angels and 4 Thragtusks. Index is also just ok, maybe add Azorious Charm? Snapcaster doesn't do a ton here either, so maybe bump him down to 2 and add a 3rd Skyknight or Entreat. Other than that I don't have any immediate suggestions besides possibly adding something like Terminus, since your mana curve has been raised quite a bit you are definitely leaving yourself more vulnerable to aggro strategies, and nothing quite says "game over" like a miracled Terminus on turn 4 or 5, and then following it up with an Armada Wurm.
Sideboard looks really good, no immediate suggestions, although the extra 2 Rootborn Defenses might be a lil excessive... Anyway, good luck!

Thanks, man! :)

What U suggested about the Snap is true... I'll take that advice...

Terminus is also considerable, but if I'm gonna' play it along with Entreat, I'll definiatly need even more Index!..

This deck is only an experiment... What I'd use on FNM is one of my Grixis, Selesnya, Azorius, or B/G/U Zombies... My Selesnya is at top decks, if U R interested... The others along with it R on page 6 in my profile...

It would be nice, if U could tell me wich would U use at FNM!! Would be a great deal of help... :)

Thanx again!

Well I'm gonna say Selesnya, but I'm not sure you should take that into too much consideration, being that I myself am going to be running some form of Selesnya myself, so needless to say there is quite a bit of bias in my choice haha. Speaking of which, I'll be uploading that deck later today, feel free to drop a comment if you have a chance!

I like the set up on here, I agree with the thragrusk, and maybe get some additional use of Snapcaster Mage by adding cloudshifts and flickering your armada wurms and thragtusks continuously.

Just an idea, otherwise, I like the rest of the deck, looks like it will do some crazy good work

THX! :)

I won't add flicker... Instead, I'm using Parallel Lives to make more tokens, tho it could be destroyed be4 I could use it & it's not a surprise move, like flicking, but I need less crads to this way to make me able to have lots tokens...

This is only an experiment... My possible tournament decks R also on the 6th page of my profile, along with this & other experiment decks... My Selesnya is at top decks...

FUCK. Just wrote a huge comment and refreshed:(

Anyways, I'd take a different approach to this.

Lose Lyev Skynight - it really needs flicker to make it worthwhile
maybe SB trostani's judgement - for 6 mana removal and a creature, this is actually reasonable - especially at instant speed.
Add thragtusk
Add Cackling Counterpart
Add Seance/Back from the Brink
Perhaps add geist-honored monk.
Those cards, as well as Armada Wurm have really nice synergy. Can copy the armada or thragtusk with either the counterpart, or seance or back from the brink, and get the ETB/into graveyard abilities, and then be able to copy the tokens using some other populate card..

Still got to do my Bant build - prob should've spent the last 30 mins doing that, instead of reviewing ur, but oh well.

Hope this helps, realise it's quite a different approach.

Nice thinking... Good luck with your version & be sure to link it to me somewhere, when it's done!!. :)

However, my deck is not about flicking, so Thragtusk wouldn't be much use...

Counterpart is great with Armada, but it would be the only creature I'd use it on, so I rather play Parallel Lives to incraise the amount of creaturs I get... It's also permanent, so everything I play after that gives me tokens R gonna' doublicate... ...until they destroy it, of course...

THX 4 YO' suggestions! I think I'm taking out 1 Lyev & play 1 more Smiter...

Really slow with over 40% at 3 mana. If you want to keep this current curve I would add Supreme Verdict to level the playing field when necessary. Detention Sphere is nice and all, but I wouldn't main deck it while boarding O-rings. You could ceratinly use Centaur's Herald, I know it seems like a waste, but if you think about it, it can block then be sacrificed for a 3/3 centaur; nice trade off if you ask me.

Verdict won't be adventagous with this many creatures...

The Herald is not good in a competative circle... Would be good for late game sometimes, but not worth...

Have U noticed how good Rootborn is with the Geist??... U can keep a 4/4 Angel & Geist won't die by the blocking creature...

I'm keep thinking on how to improove this...

You can't keep the angel by using rootborn defenses...the angel gets exiled not destroyed, you could populate the angel or put a non-exiliable angel in play with Parallel Lives though.

I ment to populate the angel & keep the copy, not the original... ...& the copy will be untapped...

Tho Parallel Lives brings the copy in the situation, that the original is in... Imagine: two 4/4 flying attacking with the Geist, or four, if I have two Parallel... :)

4th turn - boom!!!!...

My idea for this deck us angle of serenity and cloudshift. U can get 6 for one just by working off the stack it makes her the most broken angle ever I asked my judge friend it works just Luke the feind hunters 2 for 1 combo. It's truly insain. I did i did it at my last fnm he calls a judge and he said it works just like feind hunter. Broken as hell

I would probably want to make the mana curve move towards the 2 converted mana cost portion of the to quickly overwhelm the opponent and also some permanent token generators will have more synergy with the Parallel lives.

-2 Snapcaster
-3 Loxodon
-1 Armada Wurm
-1 Entreat
-2 Rootborn defenses
+4 Precint Captain
+4 Wayfaring Temple
+1 Call of the conclave.

Rootborn is essential for Geist of Saint Traft...

What, if I toke out 1 Snapcaster & all Smiter, than add 3 Midnight Haunting & a 4th Call?..

Thanx for the help, Blast!.. :)

Wayfaring temple can have a good synergy with the Geist if you find a way to always hit :).

I think that rootborn could be sideboarded for matches that you feel really needs it.

4 calls are a must I find, never a bad draw that, the smiter could be sideboarded as well against any deck that uses Rakdos return or Liliana.

Just my two pennies.

Thragtusk is almost essential for any deck that runs green in standard at the moment I feel it a mistake to not include any. Take a look at my Grixis control if you could, any advice would be much appreciated!

In populate/control & no flicker at all, Thragtusk is almost useless... Armada Wurm is so much better...

Thragtusk is like Tarmogoyf was years ago... If some1 didn't play it, others questioned it, but without a point...

There are popular cards, that are all good & effective, but not in all decks & situations... Theese are sablonic cards... They are very nice, but in some decks, builders can't see if there would be a better & less popular card for the deck...

Tho, thanks for your suggestions!..

Resolving a Thragtusk is very, very bad news for your opponent, and the life gain against aggro decks often will push you out of reach.

Got to say that Thragtusk would not be bad, maybe not 4 or even 3 but 1 or 2... I mean he makes tokens and gives life so.... sounds good to me!

Truely not bad, but no space for him... Armada is better for this deck & also Entreat the Angels & I don't want to raise the curve... Tho, you are right... ...Thrag is a card that is worth having 1-2-3, or 4 copies of in a deck... It's just that with Parallel lives & populate, Entreat & Armada are both better...

The combo here is Geist of Saint Traft either attacking with Parallel Lives on board - this way I attack with 2 4/4 flyers, may be 4, or 8... ...or Populate the angel token(this way you can keep the "copy" & it's not attacking)...

With Rootborn Defences I can save the blocked Geist & populate the angel at the same time...

With Azorius Charm, I could also save his a.s, by putting the blocking creature on top of it's owner's library...

What I'm thinking about now is to have 4 Geist in the main deck... ...not sure...

What do you think?..

Thragtusk is strong against removal/mass removal, so I'll use 3 in the sideboards... Changing it for some Entreat/Armada, when I need tham... :)

Honestly, I think this deck is pretty bad and won't stand a chance in any tournament unless your FNM is relatively small. Thragtusks would bring a lot to the table. It is almost needed to stand a chance against removal and other stuff.

I do play Thragtusk in the sideboards(3 copies)...

Geist of Saint Traft is also good against removal, since it has Hexproof & when it attacks, I just remove the blocker by Azorius Charm, or cast Rootborn Defences(& keep the Angel token I got by populating the original)...

Against mass removal, I just keep a Wurm, or Entreat the Angels in hand...

The only problem with this deck is, that I can not figure a way how I could find space for more counter spells... I have only 3 & only in the sideboards...

I have very few control stuff here, but this deck is hard to deal with & is fast...

Your predictions are 97% false, 'cuz my location is extreamly competative & I've played this deck(not in tournament)... ...it do stand a chanse against every type & level of decks...

This is not a deck I'd play in tournaments though... I've made this only for fun & the deck type I chose for this is "Experimental"...

Here are the decks I consider using next friday:

Man this is amazing! :) entreat the angels, armada and geist with parallel lives. scary

I'd have a 4th parallel lives and 1-2 thragtusk in the main deck. change the oblivion ring for another sundering growth.

Thanx!.. :)

I also considered 4 Parallel, but it's not essential & I couldn't take out anything for it...

Good thought about Oblivion & Sundering, but with the Ring, I can exile creatures & planeswalker as well... ...& if my opponent gets rid of Oblivion, he/she gets the walker back with the amount of loyality counters it had, when it first entered the battlefield... :)

Anywayes... ...thanks for your suggestions!.. :)
