Deck Description

Standard, Esper mill control...

How to Play

Control the board & survive until you can mill the opponent's library away with Jace & Ashiok...

It's a shame, that Drownyard is not legal any more, but I wonder if this new version of mill is capable...

Deck discussion for Ashiok & Jace, Library Thives

Hey Poet, it's been a while :D

This looks like a very promising deck (as usuall with you).

If I'd come with a suggestion I'd say drop one Revelation and get a Lazav in there perhaps?
Also you might want Negate in the sideboard to stop Heroe's downfall on your PW's.

Nice seeing your brew again :D

Thanks, Jestrix! :)

I'm glad people still remember me here... ...I've been far from this site for a year or so...

You're right about Negate... ...it seams I'm out of practice when it comes to building competative decks... :)

Check out my other decks... ...I will take a look at youres soon!..

So, the idea is to win on Mill I take it (this looks like the Esper Drownyard deck pretty much). Why not add one Traumatize to speed things up a little? And Azorius Charm and Inaction Injunction, why not make them proper removal instead? Either Detention Sphere and/or Devour Flesh? Or I could see 4 Desecration demon's in there (as a secondary win condition as well) :)

Traumatize is and will most likely never be standard playable especially in control. I recommend running a couple more counter spells, specifically don't sideboard Psychic Strike it's became awesome after the cycle. And relying on your Planeswalkers for your mill win condition isn't the best. Having to sorcery speed a 3-5 mana Planeswalker early game will get you killed. And dropping a planeswalker that takes a fair amount of time to function isn't that fast and without sufficient counter magic in your deck direct damage or kill spells will destroy your planeswalker. I recommend Millstone. I use this little badass card to win tons of games keep a control strategy and end of their turn mill em' two. The lands stay untapped and you start winning from start of the game. And the planeswalkers supply a good way to finish off the opponent late game.

Traumatize is more a Dimir mill card. This is more control than mill, but I do see his point though

Generally I wouldn't suggest Traumatize, but in a control deck I can see it because just 1 of them in deck don't take much space and it will speed up the win condition by 50%. I agree that tapping all your lands for a Traumatize on turn 5 is not good, ofc you will need to use it in a way so you still have reactive mana left over.

Great deck! i was thinking you should add Cyclonic Rift for this type of deck :D

personally i think you are going to need more mill cards to try and mill the person out because its going to take you a minimum of 5 turns to get jace out and another 5 to mill them out and thats if you can keep him alive for that long

I was also worried about that, but a mill deck works this way... ...I have tested this against quite some type of decks, but I'm not yet finished... ...I just need more counters in the sideboard...

This is almost like a combination of 2 of my decks!
Sin Collector could be a good staller

I Like your Play Style With This Deck. Not Relying Heavily On permanents Other Than Planeswalkers To See You Through To Victory.
I Do However Feel As Though There Is A Better Choice For Ultimate Price In Your Sideboard. Maybe Just Two Detention Spheres Instead? That Way You Have A Better Answer For All Styles Of Permanents. Especially With Cards Like Purphoros And Heliod Hitting The Field And Exile Being The Only Answer.

If You Wouldn't Mind Could You Take A Look At My Latest Creation?
It's A U/B Deck Focusing On Continuous Creature Sacrifice Using A Combo Between Agent Of The Fates And Agoraphobia.
Thank You Very Much!

Pff. Keep those capitals at a minimum. That makes a post easier to read.

I do like the detention sphere, but im conserned about the amount of enchantment removal. Playtesting will find that out though.

How does the Inaction Injuntion work out? I've considered that card. I really don't like the sorcery speed, but the extra card does make up alot.

N.B. Strange, MTGvault lists Inaction Injunction as a instant, but it is an instant for sure. They need to fix that. ;)

It stops their creature for a turn AND you draw a card. Which could be a kill spell

That card buyes me time wich I really need with this deck & I also get further in my lobrary wich is also key here... :)

I've played quite a lot with inaction junction and it's an OK card for tempo, but this is control, so removal is a much stronger option.

Besides, most control decks are now just stall until you can play AEtherling!

I've really forgotten how to build a freakin' deck......................... :)

It's Ok. Creatures aren't exactly everything
If you were to use creatures:
2 Consuming Aberration
3 AEtherling
4 Sin Collector

Aberration is good... ...AEtherling also & Collector is a very effective sideboard card...

Thanks! :)
