Deck discussion for The Art of Morbid

I like the concept of stuff dying and still dealing damage and yet bringing it back via undying/tokens. Very unique and a cool idea. I suggest the use of Killing Wave for the "End Game" card, the sacrifice of all of each players creatures with Blood Artist on the field, even one mind you, could finish them even from 20 life. Maybe add in an Altar's Reap for more sacrifices and drawing the cards you need. Cards you could remove for those could be 1 Demonlord and 1 High Priest. That's something to consider.

I'm looking at making a G/W Angel/Human Aggro deck with endless possibilities including equips like Mask of Avacyn or Ring of Thune/Kalonia and enchantments like Rancor or Call to Serve. Any ideas or suggestions for combos?

Angels with humans are not very strong... ...if you still want to play tham, than make sure you prun 3 Sigarda in the main deck!..

Bond of Faith is a great card!.. ...use 3-4 of it in the main deck!..

Find Hunter is important as well (2-4)...

Doomed Traveler, Elite Inquisitor, Champion of the Parish, Gather the Townsfolk, Angelic Overseer (each 3-4)...

I think you should play 3 Overseer & 3 Sigarda... ...use 4 Farseek!..

Don't play any more angels!.. ...only humans...

Faith's Shield & Rootborn Defences are important sideboard cards...

The bird that could only attach, when you control a Soldier is also great (3 copies)...

Skirsdag High Priest is a bad card try something with a bit more versatility at the end of your curve Gisela, Blade of Goldnight might help here. Not for all three of course I recommend Bonfires of the Damned for the other two might help a bit against aggro decks.

Skirsdag High priest isn't a bad card, although I would prefer to combo it with desecration demon.

Hey turned around and ended up modifying my old white token deck instead of making the G/W angle/human one. I would appreciate it if you could point out any concerns or possibilities for sideboard cards.

I really do appreciate your help and comments, and if there is anything that I might be able to help with let me know.

Oooh morbid! I was playing around with a G/B one when morbid first showed up, but never got it working. This looks nice however!

I think I'd might switchout the Ashmouth's for Desecration demon instead and drop 1 dreadbore for Killing Wave as it would be a nice sweeper/finisher in this deck :)

I'm playing around with some new stuff (again) and since you're probably one of the best and most fun deck builders on here, I always appritiate and respect your input :)

So if you don't mind :)

Wow, that's a great deck, man! I came here from your comment on the W/R aggro deck on front page, but now I see I struck jackpot!
I run some of those cards in my W/B Human Tribal deck and could use some help to improve it; I have even been considering adding red or green to it. Could you swing by and see it to give some useful suggestions?

Anyway, a great deck :)

So, how effective is the Skirsdag high priest? I had one in a morbid deck a while ago... Bit it just didnt seem to be very useful, since you have to tap 3 creatures to use it...

Undying helpes you have 3 creatures at a time...

0

Yes, I know that. But tapping 3 creatures also leaves you with 2-3 less blockers... which concerned me more than not having the creatures to tap.

...you'll have the token to block & usually, the possible attackers are smaller, so the opponent most likely won't attack at all... ...& I also have 4 Dreadbore, 3 Tragic Slip, 3 Bone Splinters & 3 Volley for removal...

...of course, against R/B & Jund zombie aggro is different, but I have Pillar & Killing Wave in the sideboard...

So pretty much what you are saying is that despite the fact that you have to lose 2 blockers each time you want to use it... Skirsdag high priest has been an effective card for you, right?

This isn't any of my tournament decks, but when I play this, the Highpriest works out great... ...you can tap creatures for it that's effected by summoning sickness, so it's not that hard... ...I'm playing quite a low curve here, the Traveler & Angel gives me tokens, that could also be tapped... ...& the main thing is: The opponent doesn't want me to lose too many creatures with Blood Artist on the field, so they'll stay for the Priest...

...I can block with enough creatures & when I can't, I won't... ...I usually make enough lives with Blood Artist anyway... ...if I make some of those demon tokens, I'm gonna' strike enough first...

...I have many removal spell, so blocking is not alwayes nesesarry... :)

And lets not forget, you can block, then tap creatures.. so you don't have to lose blockers to spawn that 5/5 token :)

1

...of course :)

...why did we waste this many words for this question?!.. :) ...it didn't come to mind, that it's that simple, yet, when I play the deck, I do it like that: block, if I need to, than tap before my creatures die pherhaps... ...it's a must, that you tap those creatures in your opponent's turn, in the latest phase possible...

Thanks for reveling this obvious truth to us silly dorks!.. :)

Don't know, lol... That's a good point. Don't know how I missed that... Oh well. I like this deck, it looks pretty solid, and I can't really find anything that I would change or add other than maybe trying to fit in disciple of griselbrand. Tap 1, sac a creature, and you gain life = to that creature's toughness. morbid on command if you have the creatures to spare.

Also, I was hoping you could check out this deck and give me some feedback on it. I personally think it deserves more attention than it has gotten. It is a lockdown deck.

Well I think you two might have ended up in the classical "I have to win this argument" battle if I didn't point this out ;)

I think I will try to build this deck my self tonight and try it out, I have all the cards and I've been (un)dying to use my hounds and ashmouth's again :)

Um... Kind of. I wasn't really arguing that it was a bad card. I was just curious if he found it useful is all. Honest question is all, and poet answered it very well. I just posted my replies in a goofy manner I guess.

You need 2 falkenrath nobles to make use of the blood artist effect. You're going to want more of it or else it ''ll be underwhelming. Barter and Blood is also great removal for the sacrificing.

I can't see many morbid cards inside this deck.... Anyways I believe it should have been greeny and use cards like Strangleroot Gheist and Ulvenwald Bear but this deck is good as well.

Seems like you're splashing white forcefully. 4 Doomed Traveler and 1 Requiem Angel isn't much to risk drawing dead cards when you lack plains.

I'd recommend Krenko's Command or even Vile Rebirth.

Krenko's Command... ...really??!.... ...man, how could you come up with that?.. ...it's 2 1/1 tokens with no abilities, why would I play tham in this?.. ...Why not Gather the townsfolk, or Lingering Souls?..

...I wouldn't draw dead, 'cuz I have 10 lands that could add white mana...
