what about massive infect and/or trample? :P
(of course Spirit Mantle helps a little vs infect/wither i guess)

i like the 'no counters' policy:)

i have the exact same deck (i stumbled upon it because it won some big tournament some time ago) except that i run Balustrade Spy instead of the Whirlpool Rider. it enables you to pretty reliably dredge your whole deck in turn 4-5 and swing for leathal damage with the Hatebound-Golgary Troll combo in the same turn.

well Gitaxian Probe ain't that essential for the deck...

it's a little old, but you mind want to consider Mind Twist.

i like the idea of the deck.

well since Ball Lightning takes 3 red mana i think BoP would be the better choice.

ohhh, i was always wondering, what kind of deck could handle him. yeah i guess it would work! but what to take out? since u are running Mana Flare i wouldn't take out any of the sorceries.

btw, have u considered Wall of Fire instead of Stone Wall? to burn surplus mana from Mana Flare.

i like this deck a lot. i have only seen 93/94 red burn decks being comboed with blue so far, but i like the idea of green for this. especially the Ball Lightning + Berserk combo.

maybe switch out the Llanowar Elves for Birds of Paradise since they also give red mana (and are immune to the earthquakes, but that's mostly irrelevant because of the Hurricanes).

thanks for adding me to the list, wickeddarkman :)
