so my first thought was that to a new player, decks often seem disjointed and can't quite figure out what the purpose of some cards is, within a deck (even some expert players suffer from this!) so to design a deck for new players, each card has to have a definite, obvious role within it. with that in mind, it made sense to go for a themed deck. one with creatures of a certain type in it. i settled on elves because that's an old beginner's favourite. llanowar elves and all that jazz. it's an elfageddon deck, so the idea is to get mana-producing elves out into play and then 'geddon everyone's land. boom. you have super advantage. it's a simple concept and all of the cards in the deck are extremely easy to understand. the deck has two rares.
