Main Deck (60 cards)

Sideboard (15 cards)

Planeswalkers (2)

Enchantments (2)

Submit a list of cards below to bulk import them all into your sideboard. Post one card per line using a format like "4x Birds of Paradise" or "1 Blaze", you can even enter just the card name by itself like "Wrath of God" for single cards.

Deck Description

A basic soul sisters deck with several win conditions. You could use Felidar for the instant win, or just simply overwhelm your enemy with other stuff. If you want, you can swap the sideboard in and make the deck more focused around tokens and win like that.

EDIT: Took out Felidar for Rhox Faithmender

Deck discussion for Girls Just Want to Have Fun

Love the name! Lol suggestion: Devout Invocation. Just one. You won't really be doing much swinging with your sisters and similar cards, so they would provide plenty of fuel for it and for every one you tap you get a 4/4 flying. Definitely boosts your lifegain/gives you that final boost for you to swing out with

I considered using it, but it's a hefty drop for this deck that's only running 21 lands. :o I might put it into the sideboard incase I use tokens. I'd be able to tap a ton of stuff and make it really pay out so it would be much more worth.

Oh yeah, swap out the Doomblades (you saw how that played out today) and the Brave the Elements for the Spectral Procession (putting them into the sideboard of course) and Devout Invocation. Then another Emeria, Sky Ruin. Fun stuff! Or if you just want more lifegain, Celestial Mantel. Celestial Mantel. That's some shenanigans

I like to use Sanguine Bond with Celestial Mantel and Rhox Faithmender. :) You could even throw in Exquisite Blood and turn it into an infinite combo.

Question: Do you prefer Brave the Elements over Holy Day?

Brave the Elements. Holy Day is just a Fog. With Brave the Elements you can save yourself from certain forms of boardwipe, block majority (usually all damage) and kill some stuff in the process, or use it as an offensive card and burst through somebodies defense.

I agree with MTG. I very much so prefer BtE. :) I've considered using that infinite combo, but if you look, this deck isn't really Orzhov. It's Divinity of Pride giving it that color.

EDIT: Now that I realized Lingering Soul's FB is black, I've added in some dual lands so that infinite combo is a nice option I might use!

A suggestion:

I would run a Nykthos, Shrine to Nyx over 1 of your Emeria, the Sky Ruin. You can essentially tap it for 2 and double the number of plains you have in play. And if you throw in a Urborg, Tomb of Yawgmoth, every one of your plains doubles as a Swamp. This again doubles your mana output. Plus, Urborg and Nykthos come into play untapped. I have found this to be an effective way at ramping up mana in white.

You know, I went on and on with myself thinking about including it, but at the last second before I published the deck I threw in Survival Cache instead. I may find a place for it in here at some point.

I'm not sure I could really make use of it without having to lose some important creatures in the deck. :/

Look like you just about hit the nail on this one. Looks decent and is a unique take on the Soul Sisters variant. You may want to look at the card Martyr of Sands though, it's not uncommon for that thing to gain 9-15 life on t2.

You also may want some dual lands that tap for black so that you can flashback Lingering Souls if need be.

EDIT: Your sideboard looks a little too much like my mainboard. http://www.mtgvault.com/mtgel33t/decks/budget-soul-sisters/

I used your deck as somewhat of a starting point, but then realized I had to take it a different direction to be unique. The sideboard is kind of a homage to your deck. I also like that I could change the entire deck's functions with it. :P

I heavily considered Martyr, but I'm unsure about it currently.

I do agree, however, that I need to look into the dual lands. I literally don't have any actual black in the deck so I didn't take into account the flashback cost on it when I was building the mana base. Thank you for pointing it out.

Martyr of sands can win games!

very cool deck, although i think sideboarding some runed halo's would be good, it will help you win against scapeshift and some other decks

Thanks a ton dude! I actually haven't seen Runed Halo before, so I'll think about it. MTGEl33t pointed out adding in Martyr of Sands, as well. :O It's definitely a huge possibility. I just got to figure out something to take out.

Agreed. :) That's why I'm slowly transitioning from standard into modern. Much more ability to just mess around and have fun playing Magic.

With all those creatures I think congregate could do some work in here. But I really like the deck as a whole, dat life gain!

0

True that! I might run Congregate actually. At least as a sideboard. That'd be a huge refill if I somehow happen to get hit for a ton.

I do not approve of Felidar Sovereign. SURE, it IS a win button in pillow fort decks, but there is more value you could squeeze out of six mana than a glorified "Slaughter Pact" magnet. Diversify your threats, OP.

1

Agreed. I told him not to keep it, didn't give any reasons why yet though. This pretty much sums it up.

I agree to taking Felidar out. It seemed like a cool card when creating the deck, but I've noticed it could easily be done away with. I'm looking into some replacements currently.

Cool deck. White doesn't have much in the way of bounce, but it does have flicker. Have you considered cards like Cloudshift, Flickerwisp, Turn to Mist, Saltskitter, Otherworldly Journey?

I haven't considered them actually, but I could them coming in handy with stuff like Ranger.

Definitely. Flicker Ranger out and in, gain life with any soul sisters you have in play and search your library for two more.

How do you guys think Rhox Faithmender would be in here if I replaced Felidar with it?

0
Posted 21 November 2014 at 23:17

I think Faithmender is a life gaining beast.

Up to you. Get rid of Felidar and lose a win condition.
But add Faithmender to power up your life gaining creatures.

I like the idea.

Cool. Thanks for the opinion. I'll add it in and see what others say.

Both Ajani's Pridemate and Archangel of Thune abilities trigger " just once from each life-gaining event, whether it’s 1 life from Soulmender or 5 life from Elixir of Immortality". So, putting in Rhox Faithmender will not give you an additional event, it just increases the amount of life you gain in that event. It's not really going to help you get +1/+1 counters on creatures aside from its lifelink ability.

That being said, I think Faithmender is a good card for the deck, not replacing Felidar but in addition to. But that's just my opinion.

On an unrelated note, I like a lot of the other changes you've made to the deck. The only thing I don't think helping is Urborg. With only Divinity of Pride and Lingering Souls' flashback as your black mana spells, I don't see it as needed. 4 Isolated Chapels are more than enough.

(The quote is from Archangel's Gatherer rulings text.)

So... question here... whats the point of the Isolated temples or the urbog, tomb of yagmoth? Also I feel you have a whole lot of unnecessary expenses in there... like the ranger of eos.. sure its great to get out that serra ascension win condition?.. but this deck could be just as great and over 100 dollars less... I just don't get why you need the black..?

0

The black is simply in there for the sideboard. I was recommended the Urbog. The Isolateds are for Lingering Souls.

what is the reasoning behind having the chapel and urborg? I don't see swampwalk and the only thing that really uses black mana is the flashback ability on your sideboard card. is there nothing else in white that does the same? I feel like unless you have an urgent need to use urborg it is not needed. I feel as though in this deck the only thing it will really do is help your opponent if they play black or have swampwalk.

0

Divinity of Pride is also something in there I could use for the black mana. Urborg may not be a necessity, but I like it in the deck.

Not sure of the rules...but the Urborg land may double the mana amount.
Each plain will count as a plain AND a swamp.
So tap one plain to get 2mana.

This is true. I thought Urborg doubled your mana pool and I was wrong. However, it does make all of your plains dual lands, which is nice. Plus Urborg counts as a swamp. And any other land you have can now function as a swamp as well.
